So after DS was around 11/2 I came across Ergo Baby carriers and I told myself I would buy one if I ever had another one. My question is, is it worth the money? I don't want to spend $120 on something if it's not really worth the money.

For any of you moms who have it what do you love/hate about it? And what's the weight limit?

For moms who used something else please tell me why you chose what you did and what you love/hate about it. I know a friend of mine loved her moby wrap but that thing was so long! I'm only 5"2 so I'm intimidated by things that look like they are the same size as me....

I *LOVE* our Ergo carrier, and would say for us it's been worth it. I find it extremely comfortable to wear, although it's a bit hot in the summer (but so is any carrier, and mine is black!). It's also really quick to put on, just a clip around the waist and a clip around the chest. The shoulder straps are adjustable, so it can fit a wide range of people. You can wear baby on your front, back, or hip, although I've only done front and back carries. I can even get her on my back by myself (although it takes a little practice!)

I loved it for grocery shopping cuz then you have your hands totally free, as well as other shopping outings, fairs and outdoor events, airports (no metal in it, so can go through security easily!), and just walks for exercise! Also for work around the house, although anything where you're wanting to bend over is awkward (gardening, etc)

I didn't like the newborn insert (tried it in the store and hated it so didn't buy it) but once she was about 3mos I just rolled a blanket under her bum and she fit alright. If at all possible, I would try one on before you buy, just to make sure you like it. If for some reason you don't like it, there are other similar-style carriers (manduca, beco) that you may prefer.

I totally believe in baby carriers, but they aren't one-size-fits-all. I highly suggest heading to a local store where you can try them on (local baby boutiques are usually more accommodating of this than big box stores). I defiinitely would not suggest ordering one online without having tried one on first.

I absolutely hated the Ergo I tried. I found it awkward and uncomfortable. But lots of people swear by them! Thats why i think it's important to either borrow one from a friend, or head to a store to try on different types.

I settled on a BOBA3G, which is infant to toddler. But there are so many different brands and types out there!

Love the ERGO. I also used the Moby when DS was too small for the ERGO, the Moby is tricky but was great for the winter. IT keeps your child super close and super warm and gives them a sense of being swaddled. I plan to do the same with this baby, 1st Moby then Ergo once srping arrives.
BTW, I was given the ERGO at my shower. Try registering for it, you never know.

I used a wrap when my girls were itty bitty, and used my ergo from about 4 months on. I loved my ergo!!! I've lost it in our move and need to find it before this baby comes!!!

I bought a Moby for my DS when he was really small and then got my Ergo. I love my Ergo! I bought the infant insert and didn't care for it when he was really small. I did like it though when her was a little bigger. I love that it has a little adjustable hood to keep the baby out of the sun/rain. I bought it for the shoulder and back support. I have a pinched nerve in my shoulder and the Baby Bjorn I had with DD used to aggravate it. The only thing I don't like about my Ergo is that the baby can't ride facing out in front of you. I used it till DS was about a year, but he was really big and heavy so some babies can go longer. Definitely try one on first. My DH was able to wear it as well.

Thanks ladies! I will see if any stores out here even sell it so I can go try it on. I also forgot to mention I need to find out if it will fit DH. He's built like a line backer so not everything fits him comfortably.

I used the baby k'tan and loved it. I still use it with my niece who is 16 months old, although the sizing is off now (since I lost a lot of weight) so she hangs a little low. It's great for infants and great as the get older too. If you look at their website they show you all of the different ways to use it (even for twins!).

One of my favorite things is that when he was little I could actually walk around nursing him in there and nobody even knew. When you lay them sideways sling-style they're at the perfect height for it :)

I dont know about ergo baby carriers but on my part I have a carrier before but my baby had been uncomfortable so I stopped using it,..

Then I replace it with "ABC(Action Baby Carrier)", this is very helpful for me. I had love it because my baby LOVED it. I am also 5''2 but it suites me. I have seen there facebook page even kids at 7 years old can wear the carrier and it is also perfect for daddies. The carriers weight limit is 40lbs, my baby is 22lbs+ so I am still using it. ABC is eco-friendly, pocket friendly($98-but sometimes they have some discounts in FB that ranges from $50 to $75 if my memory is right and also they have some contest you can participate with). We just wish they put additional pocket to put our cellphone on. In addition to this the carrier has different print design to choose from,..I even spend time arguing with my husband which design to choose..LOL Happy Design is my bet.. and I won..!! Goodluck in choosing your product!!
