agreed Tracey.  being snarky about it isn't about to fix the chat problems. 

All banana said was thanks.  I don't see what the big deal is with saying that.  Chat may not have been a reg part of every day for some of you.  But for many it was.  I am only here now to back up Banana.  Don't tell me you didn't find out until Friday because I knew Thursday through the grape vine.  Maybe YOU didn't find out but for those of us who cared the most it was just a rumor that it was going down Saturday not Friday. 
 
Plain and simply it would have been a lot better to hear it from the horses mouth before it actually happened the day before it was rumored to happen.  It just goes to prove that the owners of this site don't give 2 chits about us.  You can try to defend the system all you want but I've been there done that.  They are out for money, from advertisers who essentially pay for us to have a "free" site.  It might not be our choice that its gone but it is.  Many of us have moved on because of it.  I know at least 20 of us are on a new site now.  More and more members leave as the community has less and less say about what happens.  I miss the old bz.  The original bz.  And this my dears is it for me.  I'm out.

I think that the members have every right to be upset & should let the CM's know how they feel.They arent listening to us hosts so maybe they will listen to the members.Its not right that they took away the chat rooms all of A sudden.They have been A big part of bz since it started & they are now loosing members because of it.When they finally do decide to bring the chat rooms back im afraid that it may be too late because A new chat room has already been started else where.

See the problem with computers, is you really have no idea what tone I was using. 

Chat is a site wide function, not a host function.

I get that Selena, and I get that people are irritated.  I just dont think that anything is taken seriously when it comes across in a snarky or saurcastic manner.  I have my own issues with the new format and I am not speaking in any official capacity as I dont have any official capacity.  I am just a member who has been a member of this website and message boards for more than 6 years.  There is no way to go back to the way it was.  Things evolve, sometimes changes are for the better and sometimes they are not,  But I have watched it with every single format change, long before Disney ever affiliated themselves with Babyzone.  People coming out swinging and leaving with a flip of the hair without even waiting to see where things are going.  It just gets old.  Are they saying there wont be chat in some shape or form?  No,  They are saying it isnt compatible at this time.  I just dont see the point in shooting the messenger.

What everyone is failing to mention so far is the fact that this is the second time they have taken chat away. The first time there was ZERO warning, weither people want to admit they knew about it or not. 80% of the regulars from chat blew up and thats why it came back for this short period of time. For a breif moment, people realized what chat meant to people. Well, either that, or they realized they f'ed up mega in just deleting it without warning. im actually going with the second option.
 
Now, to save their own butts, they decided to give a what, 2 day warning max? I'm POSTIVE they knew they were getting rid of it long before the warning but decided they needed to give us a short enough notice that we couldnt blow up saying there was no notice, but not a long enough notice to take a vote on who wanted it to stay.
 
BZ owners dont give a rat's backside about their members. If they did, they would have realized and RESPECTED the first time chat went away that there are pl here STICTLY for chat. But, because they DONT respect the people of this community, they delete it again. So, because I CARE, a group of us HAVE made a chat elsewhere and LOVE it there.
 
If it werent for the fact that I am the ONLY host on my bdc board that actually does host things, i would step down now and be done with this entire site. It saddens me that I have been here since 2007 and that i mean dirt to these people. not to mention people like Pam who have been here since the beginning. you'd think at least HER opinion would matter here since shes seen it all....long before these recent idiots took over.
 
take my host buttons away if youd like, or i guess i should say my ability to sticky. im only helping run one board of a small group of ladies...and since we realize now that they dont give a crap about a group of ladies...im sure u dont give a CRAP about weither my bdc board is ran or not...

For those who aren't actually a part of the chat community, you are actually stepping in where you don't belong. I'm not being snarky, I'm just recanting what you had said. Some peoples husbands are deployed and raising a kid on their own for quite some time and would like to have an outlet. (i.e. ME). That's just one scenario, although extreme but true, so forgive us if we're a bit ticked off. Also, the chat didn't close on the 19th like said, I went there on the 17 and it told me that the page had been taken down. Why don't community users have a right to know if they functionality is being removed...permanetly, or otherwise.

i don't know if you have noticed, but they say a lot of stuff they dont ever back up...and the fact is that these people only come around for chat - why would they periodically check for a chat that may or may not come back? i mean, why not wait until you have another chat lined up before removing this one...basically overnight change? most likely because it wont b coming back and this is just an excuse used to make peopel not stand up this time...
 
i didnt see anyone personally attack lydia here. they were not shooting the messanger, they were strictly stating their opinion and as far as i know, thats still totally legal.

I'm not even mad you guys gave us hardly no warning. I found a better place while chat is down. So thanks actually. Saved me from coming to this mad house anymore.

Overall it is just sad what a place this has become.......I sooo miss the OLD BZ and I am not alone. All this updating has done is made people run away!

Wow why all the hostility? Seriously calm down and breath for a second. Its a online chat not the end of the world. I just happened to open this up and I am amazed at how up in arms everyone is. You may love the chat feature but this is a little over the top don't you think? Hopefully it will be back up soon and everything will be good. If not there are a lot of other chat communities out there and its really BZ's loss. If they don't take care of their customers i.e us, then their site will start to hear crickets. Thats their problem, no need to let it ruin your day.

I agree that you should voice your opinions I just think there are better and more tactful ways to go about it. Just doesn't seem like a very productive way of getting your (general) way.

Agreed.  On every single point.  Our BDC is practically non-existent anymore, largely due to all the changes that were made.  It's really sad; I miss so many of the ladies.  Thank goodness for other "social networking sights".

holy wow!! seriously this is just so far outta hand.  it's an online chatting site.  so it went down.  there are many other places you are free to go to chat with your friends.  and i mean this to everyone that is all up in arms about it going away.  this site has changed by leaps and bounds since i first posted here over 5 years ago and to be honest, i don't like the majority of the changes.  if you don't like something you have two choices, suck it up and stick around or move on.  easy peasy lemon squeezy. 
 
seriously i see no reason to get all bent outta whack over it.  sheesh.

and i would like to also point out there is an email addy posted in the OP for any comments.  perhaps emailing your concerns to her in a calm fashion would get you farther then just making snarky comments.   just a thought for you all to ponder.

seriously reminds you of hens clucking???? but isn't that all of what HT's board ever does hahahaha I have been with bz for many many yrs  and stuck around the last yr mainly just for the people that come to chat  cause the rest of BZ has gone to complete and utter shyte tons of the old ones have left ages ago and its sad cause bx used to be a great place. althought HT  has always been  a place for "clicky" hens to come and peck each other apart under the guise of debate since its inception so to all the higher ups I really hope changing bz to what it is now has gotten you what you wanted NOT  its gonna be a ghost town soon

HT is a debate board. It is made up of many intelligent women debating or giving opinions over topics. So yes there is a lot of going back and forth hence the debate label. Much like here there can be a few caddy remarks or snarkyness because people have nothing else to do which is a little high schoolish if you ask me, but by majority it is well intended. Those sort of comments always crack me up.

Im sorry, this is making you compare us to hens and chickens. Which is pretty much an indirect way of you calling us animals? If you are please just outright say so, we're upset not stupid. We're unloading what we're feeling on the boards so called "over and over" because thats what the chat was used for! Or its simple futile to email anymore, they either dont reply, people poke their noses in an arena in which is unfamiliar and have no idea what they're talking about. Only had to say it once there. But then again, those who dont run in that circle might not be familiar with that concept.
 
People jumping on the bandwagon who dont even chat regularly seems more like a waste of time, especially if they never actually utliized the chat. I myself, (was using a different user name before--member since 06) have never ONCE seen you in chat. Of course, who knows I could be stating the obvious.
 
I'm sorry, who said we were angry all the time? Please provide a quote before stating falseifications. Im sure if you look at the history of these users you'll find that there is a wide range of emotions in their history. Now, I'm just using common sense here, who knows this could be a forgein concept, but i'm pretty sure not everyones post is filled with being angry at every single post. I've never had to post before because I've just been chatting. This is an issue where I felt it was important enough for me to say something. It is after all "the american way". Oh and by the way, there are chatters from other countries who use the chat also, so I'll say, "its the human way", I dont want to exclude others.
