Hello-
I am about 6 weeks pregnant, Due May 21st, 2010!  My husband and I are very excited as this is our first!  I am having a lot of cramps they feel a lot like menstrual cramps and are not constant but come and go.  I keep telling myself that it is just everything changing with my body that is causing the cramps and they will quit soon but they have been happening for a couple weeks and they hurt!  No blood or anything.  Anyone else experience this?  Any advice???

Thanks!

Liz

Hey Im due on May 21st too!!! I have been having a couple of cramps too. It's usually nothing to worry about being that there are many women who cramp when they first find out their pregnant like they would be having there period just with no blood. If this is your first baby you will be scared about any and everything that goes on. This being my third child I know this can happen. But if the cramps don't go away maybe you should call your doctor just to make sure everything is okay.

I'm 28 weeks pregnant, with my first.  In the beginning I too would had cramping periodically.  I read and was told that the cramping was normal as long it didn't go on for too long and there was no bleeding.  I can tell you I worried about everything in the beginning, especially for the first 14 weeks.  What your experiencing sounds normal, but don't be afraid to call your doctors if you need.  Congradulations on your pregnancy.  I hope everything works out for you.

I am a little over 5 weeks and experiencing the same thing as you. I am also on my first, so I don't know if it's normal, but I can tell you that I have cramping on and off all day. It get's worse at night. Seems like the only thing that eases it a bit is eating something like crackers. Not spotting or vomiting for me though as of yet.

Hi Liz! Congratulations on your pregnancy! My name is LaResa and I am also due on May 21, 2010 so that is why I felt I just had to reply to your post. I am have a 19 year old son so this is my second pregnancy and I can hardly remember what it was like back then for me, but I have been having some cramps also. I am going in to see my doctor on Friday. I know that some prenatal vitamins can be very high in Iron and that can cause constipation, which in turn causes cramps...I didn't think that was my problem until I called my docotor to ask and so, I've stopped taking the vitamins until my appointment which my doctor said was fine and since then, I've not had as many cramps and have been able to have a bowel movement so maybe try asking your doctor or maybe change your vitamins or stop them until you see your doctor.

I had that with my second pregnancy.  Horrible cramps especially when I walked.  I spoke to my doctor and it was not a problem.  Just the uterus and muscles stretching to accommodate the growing baby!

I was fearful of cramping as well. I went to my OBGYN and its normal. Your body is just preparing for the baby and strectching!!

Hi, i'm seven weeks pregnant and this is my second pregnancy.  I miscarried the first pregnancy so every little thing i'm worried about.  I've been having the same issues with cramping also.  I went to the OB and she said it was normal, as long as it isn't frequent, painful, or have bleeding along with it, it's not anything to worry about.
