On May 24th I went in for a routine doctor's appointment and a NST/BPP for the baby.
The night before I had spent 4 hours in L&D having contractions but they just sent me home as they had no room in the hospital to keep me. Well the baby did not pass her NST/BPP so the doctor sent me to L&D to be monitored for 6 hours. While there my blood pressure shot up big time. The baby was doing well while in the hospital but my blood pressure would not stay down. The nurse was awesome and tried to reassure me that everything would be fine. She came in later and told me that I would be staying indefinitely and may be put on Magnesium for my blood pressure that was ridiculously high. I did not want magnesium as I had it with my first child and it sucked bad. So she contacted the doctor on call to see what he wanted to do. He came in at 5:30 pm and told me that we were going to have a baby. I was excited but yet scared because she was only 36 weeks and 6 days. The doctor felt confident that she would be fine. At 8 pm I deliver a beautiful baby girl, Emily Diane, by csection. She weighed 6 lbs 10 oz and was 18 1/4" long. She immediatly began crying but began having respiratory issues. I was not able to see her and she was taken directly to NICU. She spent 14 hours in NICU and I did not get to see her until she was brought to me in my room the next day. That was the hardest thing for me. Recovery was great and she is now 1 month old and weighs 6 lbs 13 oz.
