I had the most AMAZING Mother's Day ever!
This morning we made homemade cards for my mom, their bio-father's mom, and their foster mom. Then we drove around town delivering them and went to the Mother's Day service at my exILs church.
Came home, had lunch...had a failed attempt at nap time. XD
Spent half an hour doing preschool prep with Noah, which he did really well with!
Then my DF and the boys made me a picture that's now hanging on my kitchen wall!
Spent a good long time playing at the park and taking pictures, came home and had dinner, more school time, and a bath. Then they helped me vacuum and we had our family quiet time (we always watch like half an hour or so of a movie - today it was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets!)
Then we read Oh The Places You'll Go and put the boys to bed.
AJ had a horrible nightmare about 10:30 and was screaming bloody murder - I pulled him out of the room so he wouldn't wake Noah up...the poor kid screamed for nearly half an hour cuz he couldn't wake up

I finally got him to wake up and calm down, and he and I just cuddled for about half an hour...then I took him to bed with DF and I - he's sleeping in there with DF now (I'm in such a happy mood I can't sleep lol!)
Anyway, him waking up like that was just the perfect end to my day - as a mother, it's SO wonderful to be reminded when your child is scared or hurt or whatever that the only person he wants and who can calm him down and make him feel safe is MOMMY! Plus, it's a VERY special treat for him to be sleeping in my bed with us - I coslept with each of them until they were 6 months old - after I moved them to their own beds, neither of them has slept in bed with me since, so this is WAY special to me!
AND, to top it ALL off...I honestly didn't expect any recognition from my parents, exILs or my kids' foster parents...but when I picked the boys up yesterday afternoon, their foster parents had gotten me a card that the boys signed...and their foster mom had helped them plant flowers for me and paint these pretty little clay pots to put them in! It was such a great gift, and meant SO much to me!
Sorry for rambling, but this was byf ar the best Mother's Day I've ever had!
