What have you done today? How has your diet been working? Are you drinking enough water?

Check in and let us know what you've been doing throughout the week to get in shape! :)

Monday -

I've done my 20 minutes of walking and so far drank 32 oz of ice water and a very large cup of decaf black tea (I've got to go to the store and get some green tea!)

For breakfast I had grapenuts, lunch I made tuna with a little EVOO and tomatoes with salt and pepper in a wheat spinach wrap then a snack of low fat vanilla yogurt with lowfat granola. For dinner I plan on oatmeal with turkey bacon and at least 32 oz more water before bed.

Hopefully I'll actually be able to sneak in one more walk around the neighborhood tonight!

Yanna, you rock, both with your health stuff and as a board leader!

Monday: 30 minutes on elliptical at level 8 (with lots of stopping to re-insert pacifier, nurse and change diapers in between, lol!). Pre-workout, had a hard boiled egg and banana. Breakfast, had oatmeal with a peaches and few walnuts mixed in. Lunch, veggie burger and an apple, then two small pieces of dark chocolate (my splurge!). Dinner hopefully will be sautéed chicken, mushrooms and onions over whole wheat pasta with crushed tomatoes.

Thanks Amanda!

So really your 30 minutes on the elliptical was REALLY 5 after all the other stuff? ;) lol

Your menu for today sounds really yummy!

Im not much of a dieter sadly, but I have been using portion control and making healthier choices. And NO more sugary drinks other then occasional cherry limeade. The big thing I do is P90x and it is whipping my butt. My goal weight is 120 and I'm half way there so hopefully I can wear a bathing suit this summer.

We've done P90X...it's not easy! Way to go!

Yanna, actually it took about 90 minutes total, lol! But I DID get a total of 30 minutes on my elliptical. Unfortunately, as soon as my feet stop, the timer resets on that thing. So every time I'd get off to do something for Mason it would reset and I had to keep track of my overall total in my head! But I was determined!

Ive started walking and jogging and just ordered next weeks meals - all very healthy and well balanced. Just a suggestion for the moms out there who are having trouble getting motivated - sign up for a race or walk and start training for it if you have a goal for yourself then your more likely to keep up with the exercising.

You girls are all SO motivated!!!

Monday - NOTHING. Niggly baby that wont sleep the whole day and exhausted momma, so I did not even go for a walk :( Had green salad for lunch and orange juice. Dinner was homemade mac anc cheese - small portion.

Tuesday -

Did TWO laps around the neighborhood today! Poor DS2 was complaining his legs were tired! lol I did get that second walk in last night and hopefully can do another tonight. Tomorrow it is supposed to be rainy and I have a dr appt during my usual walk time...so my walk tomorrow may just consist of parking in the very far end of the parking lot at the dr and walking to/from the door! ha!

Not doing as good on water today...still working on my first 32oz so I'll have to suck down some extra! I have this giant 32oz mug I got from my pg with DS1 and it works perfect for my ice water and tracking how much water I drink ;)

Getting ready to make vegetarian bean burrito for lunch, lots of protein to hopefully keep me full and keep me from snacking too much!

So far so good for the day! I haven't eaten any sweets so far but I'd sure love some chocolate!

Completely agree with this statement!!!
Yesterday I went to the dr and got some bad news. I don't know if any of you remember me posting at the begining of my pg about having to do physical therapy for my back? Anyways, last week I had an MRI and I got the results yesterday. I have a compression fracture of one of the vertebrae in my spine. Basically instead of being a rectangle the bone is a triangle. This means another round of physical therapy and no high impact aerobics. (No insanity workouts!! grrrrr) I am going to start walking tonight and go get a yoga DVD. I'll let you know how it goes!

I also have to add that reading about everyone's hard work is really motivating!!!

Oh Jess that just totally stinks!!!!!!! Did they give you any kind of muscle relaxers or anything you can take to help with the pain?

I LOVE yoga! I used to have horrible back issues and yoga helped me so much! My mothers cousin (my second cousin?) and her husband are yoga instructors. She has studied in India and such, and he was just qualified as an instructor. I would take his classes and it was nice and relaxed but never much of a workout. Then he couldn't teach one night and she did. HOLY COW! I was sweating buckets! Once of the best workouts EVER!

Oh Jess, I'm so sorry! I've had 5 back surgeries for ruptured discs, including a 3 level fusion, so I completely understand back pain! I hope the PT solves things for you. I think I'd be more down about the no Insanity than the pain. :( Hopefully you'll be back with Shaun T before you even know it!

Yanna, way to go! How far is the walk you're doing around your neighborhood? And way to think ahead about getting in exercise when life gets in the way. Just parking far out makes a big difference. I need to run to Sam's tomorrow and am gonna take Mason in the Ergo...now I too will park at the far end of the lot! :)

Tuesday...what an awesome day! I weighed myself for the week and I'm down 2 pounds! Woo hoo! Then, I met a friend and went to a Spin class at the gym. I told her I was in for half the class (it's an hour long). But you know what, I finished that sucker! With no breaks!

For breakfast, I had scrambled egg whites with 1 egg and some whole wheat toast. Then, pre-spin, I had some oatmeal (I try to eat it everyday as it's supposed to help with milk supply) with berries and skim milk. After spin, for lunch, I sautéed some lean turkey breast medallions, apple, craisins, roasted asparagus and brown rice. Most were leftovers, so I was happy with my re-purposed meal! I'll probably either have a yogurt or a smoothie later. Then dinner, I'm making chicken with whole wheat pasta.

Took my vitamin this morning and am on track as far as water. So all in all, a wonderful day on plan! :)

Just reading about all you ladies do...makes me feel VERY GUILTY!!! :) but it is a good motivator to get me off my butt and get me going!!

Tuesday- Had a lovely morning with hubby on the beach. Breakfast was coffee and cookies (oops) Recovered in the afternoon with a cup of spicey tomato soup. Dinner was beautiful grilled chicken and veg. Definitely not enough water! No walking as I was heading out between homework, and dinner...it started raining!!! I did however park far in the parking at shops and walked down all the isles ;)

Maybe it will go better today....

No feeling guilty! Just do the best you can!

Wednesday...Just got back from the gym. First off, after being motivated by Yanna, I parked at the far end of the parking lot! Then did 20 minutes on the stair mill at 80+ steps/minute. Then 5 minutes around the track with a full lap of jogging! Had to hold my boobs a little, as they were definitely not supported enough for jogging! Then had an awesome 30 minute session with my trainer. I'm gonna be sore tomorrow! But I'm really starting to feel great from the workouts!

For breakfast, I had a banana, followed by some oatmeal with berries and skim milk. Then a hardboiled egg after the gym. No idea what I'm having for lunch! For dinner, I'm planning on taco salads with lean ground beef. No tortilla chips for me! I'm already 40+ ounces into my water.

I'm hoping to maybe get a walk in with Mason later, depending on the heat. At the very least, we're going to Sam's, so there will be more parking lot walking, plus walking all around the store!

Wednesday -

Not doing so good today! My plans to park at the end of the parking lot got rained out :( I didn't have the little cover thing for the car seat so we ended up parking close to the door. Breakfast was a bowl of grapenuts and lunch was another vegetarian bean burrito with cheese...think I'll have soup for dinner ;) And I'm craving chocolate like CRAZY!!! I got some of the dark chocolate hershey kisses but I really want to just eat the whole bag! Trying to concentrate on drinking water instead but it really isn't the same! lol

Yanna, it's okay to have an off day! Portion out a piece of chocolate (or two!) and put the rest away! Still sounds like you're doing fairly well diet wise today, so it's not all bad!

It's official - I SUCK haha

all I can manage is small snacks throughout the day since I"m pretty well holding one of my babies at all times. I desperately need a moby wrap so i can start to get some things happening around the house.

my diet basically consists of yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit, milk and water lol dinner is better because DH can help out.

Thankfully I only have about 12 pounds to get back to pre pregnancy weight but I was about 12 pounds heavier than I wanted to be at the time I got pregnant so I've got some work to do. I think once the really nice weather gets here I can start to get out more. the weather is totally wonky right now!!

Well I think yesterday went much better! :)

Wednesday - Oats for breakfast with low fat milk and cinnamon, lunch was a yummy chicken salad with avocado, dinner was a pasta dish. I tried to drink more water ;) but the best of all is I had 2 half hour walks!! Took baby in his stroller and our 4 dogs....was fun! So good to get out there. Must admit I am sore today...at my incision...uggg.

More good news is that I have entered for a marathon in July!!! Now to just get the go ahead from my dr to start getting fit!!!

Let's see-I walked Monday and Tuesday, but felt like blah today, so I did nothing. My food intake has not been the best, but it hasn't been 100% bad either. It's just hard for me cause now I can eat what I want whereas before I couldn't.

Walked alot in the mall. Very sore after all my walking this week! I might have to take it easy this weekend.

Thursday - Did two laps around the neighborhood with the kids and dog, and went to Walmart and did a bunch of walking there too. Finished up all the stuff I had for vegetarian burrito for lunch and had some lentil soup for dinner. But feeling totally discouraged because the number on the dang scale just won't budge!

I did get Zumba 2 for Wii while at Walmart and hopefully next week will add that into my routine.

Alrighty - Sunday and Monday we took nice walks in the neighborhood. Monday we also went shopping. Tuesday we went on a walk in my mom and dad's neighborhood. Wednesday we went walking as we shopped for some cloth diapers (metered parking in a downtown, so we parked a few blocks from the store). Then that was the night he didn't want to fall asleep. Yesterday we didn't do much walking at all - but his one month photoshoot was last night and we spent the day with my parents so that's ok. Today is his one month check up. I plan to park far away from the building and hopefully this afternoon we can walk some more!

My diet is "ok" could be better, but I've eaten much worse. My water intake is awful. I drink it when I have a free hand, but I lost my water bottle in the move. Maybe we'll swing by the store today so I can get a new one. I do much better when the water is attached to me and I can see the ounces get sipped away! I'll do better next week!

Yanna, sometimes the scale is just stubborn! Hopefully you'll be feeling the results in your clothes regardless of the number on the scale!

Thursday, breakfast was scrambled egg/egg whites and a light English muffin with a banana. Lunch was leftover lean taco salad (no chips!). Pre-workout snack was peach apricot oatmeal. Dinner was pork tenderloin, mashed cauliflower and green peas. I was gonna give in and have a truffle for dessert (our photographer gave us a bag of homemade ore truffles with our order...I immediately stuck them in the outdoor freezer), but DH helped me out by saying he didn't want any and turned on the house alarm!

I did make it to the gym and I chose the stair mill. I did level 5-6 for 45 minutes! I've never done that much on that machine! It about killed me, but felt great at the same time!

Friday, unsure about breakfast. Going to take Mason to UNLV for lunch with daddy and to show him off! So there will be some walking on campus, plus Subway for lunch. Dinner is lean grilled steaks, a sweet potato and either a salad or grilled asparagus. I don't think I'll do the gym today. I may try to get in some time on the elliptical, or I may have a rest day!
