AF was here for maybe a day and a half. And still BFNs. My body is so weird! DH and I spoke last night about what are plan is from here. I have one more round of clomid left so I am going to do the same thing I did this last cycle only with more BDing. Meanwhile, I am going to see how much an IUI is going to cost with no insurance coverage and possibly more diagnostics. But we may be leaning toward adoption for now. We've waited so long for our family, adopting wont mean we are giving up, just that we are giving a baby a chance to be loved unconditionally without even having our DNA. I think this will help take some pressure off and who knows, maybe we will get pregnant in the adoption process!
I hope you ladies have had a good week! We are heading back to Indiana tmw!

That is really strange about AF. I don't have any answers about that, but I'm always hoping it's a BFP!! If it's not a BFP in the next coupld of days, I am hoping the last try with clomid is the lucky one. I met with my RE last week, and I could have sworn he said IUI is approx $250. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what he said. I was surprised because I thought it would be like $1000 or more. Maybe you can do the clomid and IUI this cycle...

I am very happy for you that you guys are talking about adoption. I have 3 cousins that are adopted. You are so right about being able to love a baby with your whole heart even though they don't share your DNA. It's so special to be able to give that baby a loving home. Plus, my aunt got pregnant in the middle of adopting a baby. They ended up going through with the adoption and had a boy and a girl 6 months apart and were so happy and over the moon.

I hope you have a safe trip home!

Kim are you in the USA? I have been told the cost was around $250 before, but I need to have them test my CM to make sure it is safe for swimmers! And DH is uncomfortable with producing a sample anywhere but at home, lol stage fright I guess! We may try it if it is cheap but if not we will definitely move forward with adoption.

Yes, I am in North Carolina. How far do you guys live from the doctor's office? It should be ok for him to take care of business at home if you live within a 30 minute drive. My hubby and I are about 50 minutes from the RE's office and the SA lab, so my DH had to get over that fear pretty quickly. And he's getting lots of practice with monthly SA tests... poor guy... still makes me giggle every time though ;)

How long have you been going to your RE? If it's a long time, maybe he/she will cut you a deal to try IUI, like 2 tries for the price of one. It doesn't hurt to ask. I know family friends who have done this with their OBGYNs when having babies and other big expenses.

My first IUI was basically free. I asked my regular doctor if he'd do it and he said he'd try since it's no different than putting in an IUD. It doesn't hurt to ask.

Kara,
That's strange but so nice to hear about the adoption. My DH and I decided when we got married that at least 1 of our kiddos will be adopted no matter what bc there are so many out there that just need love! I do get nervous that we won't be able to conceive naturally but when I told my mom this morning she put it into perspective "If you cannot have one of your own what better way to go than to give another child a second chance with more love than they've ever known. I think sometimes adopted children are even more loved than biological ones because they are desired enough for someone to go through the process and seek them out." I thought that was great and when we do adopt our kiddo I am going to tell them that when they hit the "rebellious stage" lol Love ya girl! Cant wait to hang out in a couple of weeks!

At my RE's office IUIs run about $1700 w/o insurance, $250 sounds amazing!

I'm all for adoption as well, I think it's a wonderful way to give a child a home. Personally I think I would pursue adoption after a couple IUI cycles and IVF.

Best of luck with your last Clomid cycle!
