Hi Everyone!!
My name is Lisa and I am new to this board. I have been on babyzone for about a year or so on the name board because am a proud name geek. LOL! Well, I just wanted to share abit about myself, my family, and my situation. I also have a few questions about the IVF process in general so if anyone has gone through it or is going through it currently I welcome responses. So here it goes....
I am 25 years old married to the love of my life, Darrin, who is 42. We have been married for about a year and a half now. My dh has a 16 year old son from a previous marriage and I have no children of my own, except my fur baby cat, Lizzy. Before my dh and I even thought about getting married I knew he had a vasectomy done when his son was about 1-2 years old so about 1995-96 due to his ex-wife having life threatening complications during child birth which the doctors told them not to have anymore children. From the start of our relationship I told my dh I always wanted children and he actually wanted more children as well he just never thought he would ever have more. We married last year and in June of last year my dh underwent a vasectomy reversal to try to have children with me in a more natural way. It has almost been a year since the procedure and we now know it was a failed attempt at children for us. We did not have very good odds to begin with so we understand but it was still hard for us to come to the realization and move past that onto plan B. After heavily weighing our options between IVF or adoption we decided on IVF as we would both like to have a biological child of our own. So, after a few months of debate we finally started IVF this April and the doctor's put me on the pill for that month. I am now on day 4 of Gonal-F & Menopur injections and my egg retreival is set for the beginning of next week. Before I started the injections I thought it was going to be a very painful and daunting process but it really it is not at all. I mean yeah the injections hurt a tiny bit but nothing like I was expecting. Since it is only day 4 I am not feeling any different other than a few side effects that I am sure most people would not really notice. Here is where my question comes in....
Has anyone ever experienced the loss of appetite and cravings for sweets when taking Gonal-F?
Has anyone ever experienced, gas, constipation, & the absense of the full feeling after eating a very large amount of food while taking Menopur?
I was with my family all weekend when I started taking this drug and we went out to eat twice both times everyone else was complaining about how full the felt and I was just fine. I even ate a little more than them. I read online about Menopur and said that it can cause wait gain. I know why now! LOL!! I am never full and satisfied feeling. I know now that I have to watch what I am eating and how much because all I have wanted for 4 days is ice-cream or chocolate or something sweet.
I am very excited about the whole process and I am just so happy that finally my dream of being a mom might really come true! I could be pg in two weeks! Wow!
