Hello my name is Molly. On March 8, 2008 I  gave birth to a wonderful health little boy Kentin. I was the first of 3 boys that week to enter my family. On March 8, 2009 I through my healthy son a big 1st birthday party. All my friend told there was no reason for a 1yr to have a party like that. On March 9 I was getting my son ready for bed around 10. He was warm but acting fine. I took his temp 102. I new Kentin had a doc apt at 1pm the next day so I gave him tylonal and waited for the temp to go down about 45 min later it was 100.2. I gave him a little more and rocked my son with a bottle. After the bottle was gone my normal acting son was trying to get way from me to get his toys so I made another bottle and put him to bed around 11:30. The next day my son father came home to me still sleeping. My son always wakes me up around 10:30. It was now almost time for his doc apt. We went in to his room. He wasn't moving. We picked him up my son was breathing but was so limp and couldnt keep his eyes open. We rushed my son to the ER not even putting him in a car seat. That was the last time my son was every home.  On his cousin Mason's 1st Bithday Friday March 13,2009 My son lost his 3 day battle to neisseria meningitis. this illness is carried in the body of 15% of people. Though it is most know to strick collage student anyone can get it. Children can get vacinated for this illness at 2 but it is not done till 11 unless the parent requested it. It was found not to be cost affective because It is a diffrent form that is given to children 2-10, then 11-18. this illness not only kills 10-15% affected ,over 300 people a yr, but the servivers loose arm, lags, fingers and most suffer brain damage. Most cases come in last winter early spring. A fever, head ack, and stiff neck are signs. Most importants sign is a rash starting as light spots like a middle diaper the rash will darken to a purple then to black. This illness will take a life in less then 24hr if action is not taken.
