I'm planning on having my membranes stripped on Wed at my appt if it is possible. Hopefully that will help get things started and there will not be any further talk of induction (I can't go overdue because of my surgical history they don't want me to have too big of a baby and they already tried to talk me into the c-sec, so that is what I'm trying to avoid)!!!
Please send me labor vibes!!!

*** labour vibes sent *** I hope you can avoid an induction.
I'm doing well. No halloween plans except handing out candy (not in costume.) I'm very lucky not to have too many nay-sayers around me. My mom had a natural birth with me and my sister is super-crunchy, so they're both on board. My SIL has lasting back problems from her second epi, so she wishes she had never gotten it. My girlfriends are generally supportive, too. I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by such positive people!

I don't think anyone cares how I have my babies. lol. They think I'm crazy for doing a home birth but then I think they're crazy for doing the hospital so it evens out I guess.

Come on baby!!! We don't want to have any of that crazy talk from the doctors!!! Just remember, they can't make you do anything that you do not want to do, including induction or c section. I hope your membrane stripping goes well for you and that they don't pull the *accidental* AROM crap on you. I have heard two stories of that in the past few weeks and it makes me cringe! Labor Vibes!!!!!!! Can't wait to read your story!

First of all... way funny that you said mice... My daughter is the proud new owner of two rats. She thinks they're awesome.*Brie+3* wrote:How is everyone doing this week?

Here's my costume I wore to a party on Saturday:

Yep... that's a hot air balloon. "Oh no! Our little boy is trapped inside!!!"
As far as nay-sayers... well, lemme put it this way.. I AM SO FREAKIN' GLAD that we decided to keep our plan for a homebirth a secret! I would not have survived!!! OMYGOSH! I did tell my chiropractor the plan the other day (he was referred to me by my HOMEBIRTH midwives so I thought maybe he already knew).... he immediately told me a story of a baby that died when born at home.... blah blah blah... he was semi-supportive and gave me the "I'm not trying to scare you" thing... but basically it comes down to the fact that the state in which it happened was not a supportive home birth state and they likely had some cooky situation. I assured him that my midwives know all there is to know and are so unbelievably prepared and trained it's insane. I said "of all ob's, midwives, doctors, etc.. in this whole area I would trust these two women with my life over ANYone else" he goes "well, you are!" and I said "Well, except for the fact that my life is likely NOT in peril.... but if it came to that... they are perfect for the job." lol It's funny to me that people so easily regard childbirth as a life-threatening situation when it's just part of life.
ok.. I"m rambling now.. sorry. It'll be interesting to see all the questions and gasps we get when everyone learns our secret! I just hope I'm ready to deal with all that and not let it detract from the joy of our new one! Not long now!!

This week has been a bit stressful as my DH lost his job on friday. We're all ready for holloween though. My daughter will be a vampire, my middle son a ninja and my two year old is being a tiger. I'm excited to take them trick or treating!
As for the pregnancy everything seems to be going well. I'm feeling the baby every day now which is nice. I won't be able to get the 20wk U/S so that stinks but my MW says I can get it later when I hopefully have insurance again. I'll be able to apply for my state's plan at 28wks so I'll get one then. We want to be suprised with the sex anyhow and just want to see that everything is healthy.
My close friends are very supportive of my home birth plans and my DH is too so that is nice. We have not told family members we know will not like it although they know I'm planning a natural birth. I do have one person in my family that has negitive things to say about me wanting a vbac and breastfeeding. I just change the subject and do not talk about my plans with them.
