Clomid, Ferma, Menopur, Letrozole, gondotropin OH MY!

I see my doctor next week to pick up my prescription! Anyone have any advice on any of these? I'm scared O-less (pun), and need some help picking my next step drug out! Thanks ladies. She told me she'll probably put me on clomid unless I have a preference.

not really sure what your story is, or if this is your first step in getting assistance from your dr. for me, after 9 mos of trying, we realized I was not ovulating at all, so I went to see my dr and he put me on clomid. I think that is the first choice that most drs use. I think most of the other meds are used when you are being more aggressive, i.e. mini stim, iui or ivf.

for me, the clomid did its job in helping me O, but was not successful in getting me pregnant. I do know several women from BZ that have had success with it though.

hope this helps, keep us posted :)

I've been activlely trying for 3 years! We've tried everything besides the fertility drugs. I have my first indication of possibly ovulating this month but we're not putting too much hope in this cycle. We are hopeing that our next step is our final step and we can move on from the monthly doctors visits.

I heard of Clomid as the default first step drug I was just wondering if there was a better drug alternative that had a better track record for positive results as a first drug option.

They say I have PCOS but don't have enough to prove that that's actually the case (my blood levels aren't in the extreams within healthy ranges), I am borderline Hypothyroidism (but again my levels aren't low enough to diagnose me as such), and I haven't had a natural period in over a year.

I believe they will start you on clomid, but they can only keep you on that for so many cycles. I used Ferma and Menopur but it was with my IVF cycle, so I don't know how it is used otherwise. Let us know what the doctor says.

My doc chose Femara for me. It has less side effects and, while the pregnancy success rates are very similar, clomid tends to cause thicker cervical mucus than Femara. This means it may take longer with clomid than femara.

I have had a successful Femara pregnancy after 3 cycles of the drug and am trying for baby #3 on Femara.
