So... I am 21 years old and 6 weeks pregnant. Although I am extremely excited this pregnancy was unexpected and scares me to death. At age 16, I had a miscarriage at 18 weeks. It was the most traumatic, heartbreaking thing that has ever happened to me and I am absolutely terrified that it will happen again. During my last pregnancy at the beginning of my 18th week I began to bleeding heavily. I went to the dr. on a Friday and they told me that my cervix was a little shorter than it should be. They told me to go home and to come back after the weekend on Monday to see if anything had changed. After going home I began to have a lot of pain (not knowing I was having contractions), and ended up losing my daughter the next day. It was terrible and it absolutely terrifies me this time. I feel like I cannot even be excited about this pregnancy because that thought is just always in the back of my mind. I have my first dr. appt on the 23rd and I hope there is something I can do to prevent this from happening again. Any input or support would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Sorry for your loss and contrats on the pregnancy. I understand your feeling's as I had the same feelings when i found out I was Prenant again. I misscarried last june and am due in june. It is still really hard to cope with the loss and not worry that something will go wrong.

first off, congratulations on your current pregnancy. secondly, don't over stress yourself, and trust in your body. i know it's harder than it sounds, but you gotta think positive for your baby. after 2 successful pregnancies, i lost an early on pregnancy, and then i lost my angel daughter at 23weeks after my water broke. when i became pregnant again, i knew it was going to be a tough 40weeks, but i trusted my body, took things easy and left things in the hands of God. kept positive through it all, asked my doctors many questions, and i let them know everything that was going, whether it was just heavier discharge, to light spottings, migraines and dizziness. i delivered a healthy baby girl at 36weeks and 5days, earlier than i expected, but healthy nonetheless and she came home with me too. i pray the same for you too. you're in my thoughts and prayers and so is your baking beanie.
