Hi my name is Brianna I have been nursing my LO for almost 20 months now, & we just found out were expecting a new bundle of cuteness in march. DO I have to stop nursing? Is it safe for the three of us? My daughter, the new baby, & myself? Any advice or tips are welcome. My daughter is VERY attached to milkies still & nurses several times a day.

I dont want my daughter to feel like we are pushing her off because the baby, she still co-sleeps we are trying to get her into her own bed (we were trying when we got the bfp to no avail.) All of 'her' >baby< things being given to the baby, her milkies taken for the baby, us making her sleep in her own bed because of the baby, sharing her cloths diapers with the baby, I've just afraid she'll resent the baby. =(

Hello and welcome! Congratulations on your new pregnancy :) I nursed through my entire last pregnancy and even while I was in labor. Everything went fine and I had no problems. Most women can nurse through pregnancy with no complications. Your milk may or may not dry up and after a while you'll have colostrum. I dried up around 8 wks and my colostrum came in around 23 weeks and my son kept nursing through it all. There is a sticky above that I will link to that has tons of info about nursing while pregnant. Good luck!

It's totally fine. I am preganant and was nursing my son up until about last week. My milk dried up and he began to naturally wean. Then it started to hurt SOOOO badly so I gently nudged him to wean all the way. But it has caused no problems for the preganacy, 2nd baby is measuring on target :O)

I would ask your doctor, but when I was pregnant with my daughter she said not to squeeze on my breasts when they were leaking because it could cause the uterus to contract and lead to early labor. These ladies seem to have had good experiences though, but I would ask any way.

Hi Brianna, I've just come back to BZ, and have a dd a little older than your lo, and pregnant a little younger, but it's good to see other pregnant/nursing mums here.
I have a friend who is due this month, and has continued to breastfeed her (now almost two year old) daughter the whole time

I know I'm a little late in responding... I am currently 29 weeks pregnant and still nursing my almost 15 month old, my doctor has me taking extra vitamin D but other than that is not at all concerned about me nursing while pregnant.
