My husband had a vasectomy three years and I got the mirena iud after our daughter was born. I got iud remvoed this summer because he had gotten fixed. I am haveing all the pregancy symptons, 6 weeks late on period, really tired, breast have been a little sore and yesterday I broke out with achne! I took a pregancy test but it came back negative.
Has or does anyone no of someone that got pregant after there spouse got fixed? The thought if being pregant does excite us but I keep telling myself I now it really cant happen, but I am confussed why I have all the pregancy symptons.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jody

That would be me. I got pregnant 2 years after my husband had a Vasectomy.
It caused a great deal of turmoil until he went and did a semen count.

My ex husband had a vasectomy(or at least claimed to have had one) 10 years before we were together and we have two children. He never went back for the sperm count to make sure it was successful though. Did your DH have the follow up sperm count done?
ETA My step mom also got pregnant after my Dad had a vasectomy. He also failed to get his checked and assumed it had worked.

After the (extensive) research I have done, apparently guys are supposed to go in for a semen count *every year* for at least the next five to make sure the vaces (sp?) have not grown back together. In our case, DH is producing 1/4 the semen of a normally functioning man. It has now almost been another 2 and even tho we have not done anything else, we have not gotten p/g again.

Thanks ladies! My husband never went in to get sperm count because dr said it really wasnt necessary but they r recommended, so he never went and got one done. I did start a little period but only lasted 2days so now im more confussed. I will wait another week and take another pregancy test and see what it said.

my dad had a vasectomy and my mom got pregnant at 40! she thought she was going into early menopause because there was no way she could be pregnant. i guess God thought they needed one more, my brother is now 13 and such a blessing!
