He was born Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 5:36 pm. Weight 8lbs 1.2 onz, length 20 1/2 inches. Birth Story:
I went in Thursday for my scheduled induction at 7:30 am, the Dr was late and didn't get there till 8. They had to start by gelling my cervix as it was still completely closed. I had to stay in bed for an hour after the gel then I walked for 2 hours trying to get things going. At 11am I started finally getting some contractions. At 2 pm my contraction were very intense so the Dr checked and there was still nothing. The Dr said some people don't react well to the gel that it had hyper stimulated my uterus with working in my cervix. He said he'd give me something for the pain but that they couldn't do anything else to induce as it could be to much for the baby to tolerate . I took the pain med and tried to get some sleep. At 4:30 I woke up and was feeling a lot of pressure so the nurse checked and I was 6-7cm dilated. They called the dr to come back as he had just left for the day. By the time the dr got back and ready it was time to push (no epidural there was no time). At 5:36 Robert Joseph Brown was born with no further pain meds. I didn't need any stitches but I have 2 small tears. I couldn't hold him right away as I did go into shock and was shaking to badly. After about 15 minutes that was under control and I was holding my little boy. We just got home today and are trying to settle in. Thanks everything for listening.
