I'm 7weeks today - I started spotting during week 5 and it's stayed pretty constant since then. At first it was very light pink and only when I wiped. I had an internal u/s and DH and I DTD and that caused heavier spotting and there was more red (I went in for an emergency checkup and all was fine). That went away during week6 and continued to just spot light pink. I had another internal u/s this past Friday (saw heartbeat all is good) and began to spot heavier on Monday - still pink but I need to wear a pad instead of a panty liner.

Yesterday I stayed home from work to just rest and I didn't have any spotting until I started moving around and doing stuff in the kitchen around 4:00 (spotting came around 6:30).

None of this has been accompanied by cramps.

So my questions - 1) is it common to spot this much for this long and still have everything fine with baby? and
2) At what point do I need to call my doctor? I don't want to be one of those first time pregnant women who call every week unless it is necessary. and finally
3) Can certain types of seats cause issues like this? I take public transportation to work and the seats are hard plastic and it's a bumpy/shaky ride. Also my desk chair is not super cushiony - if a pillow would reduce all this, I'll go buy the prettiest pillow ever!

Hello slc0118 and congratulations on your baby news. :)

I think you should talk to your doctor about this. Only he/she can really tell you what is going on and it will ease any concerns you might have.

Best wishes,

Pia

I agree with Pia, call your doctor. It is much better to be safe. Also, your stressing out about it isn't good for you. Please talk to someone to ease your mind.

I would talk to Dr about it just to make them aware. However, my dr. told me a few days ago that its somewhat normal for people to spot or even bleed thru out their pregnancy b/c afterall we are carrying a ball of blood! Which made sense and I became a little less worried about everything. But every woman is different aswell as every pregnancy so I would tell your dr about it just so they can make there own decission about your situation.
