I'm so excited. I just got off the phone with Disney World and the bakery at the Grand Floridian is going to make the exact cake that we had for our wedding, for my son's 4th birthday. Well the only difference is that it will say "happy birthday" on it. : ) I can't wait!!!!!
4 more weeks 4 more weeks 4 more weeks

I posted this in another thread but it really belongs here. An update on my non-working furnace:
It's now in the Board of Health's hands so I'm waiting to hear from them either today or tomorrow. I was in a conference call with Code Enforcement for our borough and the landlord yesterday. The code guy was basically threatening/scaring our landlord, telling him that he will have to pay for our hotel until we find a new place, all our movign expenses and he will be fined, possibly jailed. That judges are very strict when it comes to providing heat. That it would "be in your best interest to replace that furnace". I had to admit, I was trying not to snicker while I was listening because if I'd been our landlord, I'd have been pooping in my pants! lol We have a few electric space heaters I've been using at night and keeping track of their usage to present to the judge if necessary because my electrical bill is going to sky high at this rate!
I did have to laugh when I first spoke to the code enforcement officer. After telling him my story, he said let's get this guy on the phone. I told him to be prepared, this guy is very very hard to understand. His response "Well they tend to understand 4 letter words like fine and jail" LOL

Dana - lad to hear the his feet are being held to the fire...*grin* All puns intended!
I've booked our plane tickets... and am working on our lodging in NM for Brad's 4 day leave. 4 days are not going to be anywhere NEAR enough before he leaves... but we'll survive it... the Commander's wife sent out an email, asking questions ... and the first question was: When you think of the word: Deployment - right now... what word comes to mind.

Jenny - you'll have to get pictures!
Dee, so glad to hear it's coming together for his break befor ehis deployment, and you're spot on. The boyfriend of one of my coworkers is currently deployed, and she pretty much had the same to say over it.
As for me... things are lining up. I just paid off half of one of my last credit accounts. Whereas two years ago, I owed over 20k, I now owe less than 8k total. Life is good.

W has had his first counselling appointment on Tuesday, and he is taking it very seriously. His next appointment is next week, and he's modified his work hours so that he can spend more time with DS. He's working more nights, but less during DS's waking hours.

Samuel had his baptism on Sunday. =-) It was a beautiful thing, and Peter even got to help out (like a mini altar boy). We had a big reception afterward and everything went very well. Lots of fun to see family and friends. =-)
Now if only I can figure out how to post pics again - I still haven't posted any of Sam because the last time I posted pics was probably 3 'BZ' changes ago... Any tips?

Jenny-that is so awesome. I would love to have a replica of my wedding cake for my 10th anniversary. Do you have a picture?
Dana-I hope you get that resolved soon! ridiculous!
Dee- I hope you guys have an awesome getaway before Brad leaves. ((hugs))
Kay- congrats on your money situation. I am jealous! LOL. And I am so happy for W that he is trying to get the help he needs.
PeterNick&Sam- I am sorry, I cant remember your first name, lol. Congrats on the baptism. I hope you post pictures. I find the easiest way for me is just to copy and paste them into the window from Photobucket or Facebook. I dont deal with any codes or any of that crap. It is too technologically advanced for the likes of me.
And lastly! ME. THings still suck, lol. Jeremy lost his job on August 31st and is still unemployed. We qualified for about $400 a week unemployment which is the maximum for our state. We are having taxes taken out of it just to be safe. He did a side job back in March and the business owners owe us about 2k but it looks like they are going to screw us out of that. Apparently the partners had a dispute and are parting ways and somehow we got hung out to dry in the process. Because my dh isnt the best at the financial aspect of working for himself we have nothing in writing, everything he does is verbal (small town business practices). I feel bad for him, but at the same time I dont. No matter how many times he gets screwed he will not listen to me. Also we did get our kids signed up for medicaid but even with no income they will not cover the two of us. Cobra is about $500 a month for just the two of us so that is out of the question. And as I do every year at this point I have developed a kidney infection and cant go to the doctor. Our brakes went out on our van 2 weeks ago and now my roof is leaking again. LOL! This whole thing sucks, lol. It is so strange. If this had happened 8 years ago I would have been a basketcase. But somehow I am very zen...it is freaking my husband out because usually I am freaking out while he is calm, but we have reversed roles. It is weird for me, I am used to being a nervous wreck by nature! I am hanging onto our internet connection by the skin of my teeth. I justify this by saying we need it for Jeremy to network. In truth I dont want to lose my fragile connection to the outside world.
So thats us. Sounds worse than it is.

Dana, I hope your situation gets settled soon, I'm glad it is looking up for you.
Dee, I hope you have a nice visit before he leaves the country
Kay, I'm so glad things are going well for you. I glad W is getting the help he needs.
Petersmommy (dang it...I totally know your name, but Im drawing a blank)...I use the [IMG] code from photobucket to post pics, just copy it directly into the post / reply.
Tracey, I'm glad you aren't panicking. I hope Jeremy finds a job soon. I sent you an e-mail on FB.
For us, Josh got his thumb caught in a machine on Thursday. It was NASTY. Ripped off his nail, and pretty much made minced meat of the tip of his thumb (knuckle to tip), and broke that bone into 5 pieces. I took him to Urgent Care, they numbed it, gave his a tetnis shot, took x-rays, and sent us to an Orthopaedic Surgeon in Baton Rouge where he underwent surgery to have a pin put into the bone, and to reconstruct his thumb. Tuesday he has to go in so they can change his bandages, and start physical therapy. He has some places where there is no skin, and one place with skin that the doctor said has bad circulation, and may not make it. I am hoping it makes it. I don't want to have to think about skin grafts.
There are so many reasons I am upset with him over this. I am really not trying to resent him, but I kind of do. My insurance is paying for it, and we will have to pick up the rest of his deductible and then 20%. Then, there are the things he "helps" with around the house that he can't do right now...we take turns giving Jade a bath, he cleans our bathroom every other week, things like that that
are going to make my life more work.
Anyway, bleh. Totally not fluffy

How close are you to your neighbours' houses? Would it be possible to borrow one of your neighbours' wireless networks? My friend A lives below me and I pay part of her internet bill and they let me use the network. My brother gets a very good connection to both of his neighbours' networks, and at my parents' old house, I could connect to several networks nearby.
You could save yourself a few bucks by offering to pay part of someone else's internet bill and sharing a connection. It's really convenient.
I really hope he finds work soon. *Hug*

Spacecase (Stacy? I'm so bad at names!) - Yikes. I'm sorry about the thumb, that sounds so painful and then to have to worry about money and housework on top of all that - no fun.
OK I'm going to try to post a pic now. Wish me luck. First is when Sam was born -
