Hello Everyone
I have a daughter who is 6 years old
and she has been walking on her toes ever since I can remember, I
didn't think anything of it  I thought it was because she is the baby
of the family  and  wanted mommy & daddies attention, well i come
to find out that now she needs PT, Casting on both of her feet &
legs and if that don't stop the toe walking, than she will need
surgery! I can't believe i didn't think anything of it I'm flooded with
gilt  I had no clue that this was something to be concerned about.  she
never complained about pain. so my question is does ANYONE know any
thing about this??? or have experience with there child with this
problem???  the doctor's  are saying it will be OK but i can't help but
feel scared and frustrated I think i would feel prepared for the future
with my daughter if I had another mom who already went through it or
who is going through it.

Oh hun, please don't be so hard on yourself.  My oldest daughter was a toe walker as well....I never thought anything about.  She eventually grew out of it (she's 12 now).  I'm sure there isn't anything you could've done to prevent this.  I'm going to give you the link to our Medical Needs board.  Maybe one of the ladies there will have some advice.

My son was/is a toe walker - from the time he started walking. He would not only walk on his toes, he'd stand in place on his toes. His old pediatrician mentioned in passing that it might be the tendons in his foot and maybe needing surgery. What we ended up finding out was it's part of his Autism Spectrum Disorder and nothing to do with the tendons in his feet....so glad we didn't pursue surgery for something that wasn't actually caused by his feet. Good luck!
