So my baby was 10lb 11oz ( I know she is a big chunky monkey ) :-). I swear she doesn't get enough to eat..is 5 oz too much for a 3 week old?
Second question... I can't get her to sleep on her back... she sleeps in her swing, bouncy chair or on a rare occasions in that cradle slash rocker thing... she mostly sleeps on me sort of side ways across me as if she were breastfeeding however I do not breastfeed. So yesterday I put her in her crib on her tummy and she slept 5 hours... I did the same thing with my son 14 years ago also even though the nurses yelled at me... anyone else have an infant who won't really sleep on their back??? I see our pediatrician next week and I'm sure he'll yell at me but I don't know what to do.. she is so big and she almost rolled over already when I put her in there on her back. .

Daniella won't sleep on her back either so she has been sleeping on her stomach since she could lifter her head. She is 10 weeks now and can kind of roll over so even if she was on her back I think she would roll to her stomach anyway. We made sure to leave her arms free when we put her down and she has been doing great on her stomach!!

I figure myself, my husband, and our siblings all slept on our stomachs when we were infants and we all turned out ok.

Ivy's only 8lb 2oz at 3 weeks and takes 4oz a time so I would think 5oz would be ok for a 10lb baby.
Ivy does settle better sometimes on my chest lying on her front or side but I can't put her down like that in her crib. My mam keeps trying to out her on her side but I just can't settle. I'm not saying it's wrong, we all survived like that but I just can't do it.

Ours sleeps much longer on his belly so we do that. We do have a breathing monitor (AngelCare) that will go off if he stops breathing. That makes me feel better about it. Plus, he can roll over anyway.
