Water has always been an important element to me and if I had to wager, I'd say water is likely my element. So to honour that, I've made up a list of some water-related names. Some I'm not so sure about, but a lot of them were already on my list. :) Tell me what you think and if there are any water names you know about and think I might like, feel free to share! I'm looking for usable names as I'd like to suggest these to DF.

Girls:
Aqua
Aquarius (This would likely be shortened to Aqua)
Brooke
Delta
Marina
Misty
Raine
Rainie
Morgan
Morgana (I don't know how anyone else prn's this, but I prn it like "more-gANN-uh")
Una (This kinda gets bonus points from me for being an Irish name)
Lynn
Vivian
Nixie
Lorraine
Cora
Thetis (all time favourite ♥)

Boys:
River
Morgan
Ocean
Adrian

My faves (as far as names go):
Marina
Vivian
Cora
River
Ocean
Adrian

I also sort of like Brooke and Lorraine. I don't like them as much as the others above, but they appeal to me - especially for water choices. I like the idea of Lorraine nn Rain. You might also consider Raina.

I guess it really depends on whether you want the association to be pretty obvious to others, or if you want something more subtle. I wasn't sure about some of the water connections with some of these. But, it's really up to you as to which way you want to go. Personally, my pick would be Marina. Its a lovely name and the connection is pretty obvious. My choice would be River for a boy (by the way River Adrian would be a handsome combo!)

Two you might like enough to add to the girl's list:

Tallulah ("leaping waters" - origin: Native American)

Talise ("lovely waters, beautiful water" - origin: Native American)

I like them both! :)

I had seen Tallulah, but it's really nms. It's too frilly and girly for my taste. However, Talise is interesting. Is this prn'd "tah-leese"? If so, I'll definitely be adding it to my list. :)

I love Vivian & Cora, and I like Thetis (or I like the look of it, at least)
I think Lorraine, Lynn, Morgana, Marina and Brooke are all solid, and Morgana is an especially unexpected pick :)
I can't take Aqua, Aquarius, Misty, Rainie or Nixie very seriously, sorry.
Delta is… interesting. I'm not sure if people think for of the airline, though. Raine is fine… totally acceptable, just nms.
I am torn about Una. On one hand, I appreciate its background, and I do like the sound of it. On the other hand, as a Spanish speaker, I can't really get past the "one/ a" translation.

For boys, I love Morgan and Adrian! River is nmsaa, but I like it more than Ocean.

My favourite water-related names are Mar and Itsaso, both for girls, and they both mean 'sea'.

I have that same problem sometimes. If I ever did use Una, I'd probably use the traditional Irish spelling, Oona.

It says that in Scottish, the name Cora means "seething pool."
