I agree in that I don't like the rhymey thing or how there's just one letter different in those particular names. However, I do think they are nice names (assuming they are boys).
Better might have been:
Clayton and Adlai if you want the rhymey-ness without it being quite so close
Layton and Alden for a similar style/sound, etc.
or Clayton and Clarence. They're similar but not as much.
Or Layton and Loren
I could come up with quite a few actually. Clayton and James or Layton and Mayhew omg, someone help me stop!
