Has any one had any experience with Cyst Ruptures? I think I had one this morning. I ended up going to the ER and by the time I got there, the Sharp lower abdomen Pain, Nausea, dizziness, disorientation feeling, and chills had gone almost away other than my normal period cramps. I started my period yesterday. It was awful and the doctor didn't really examine me but just said it was mostly likely a Cyst and to come back if the pain comes back. I got home, took some ibuprofen and went to bed. I am ok now. Just curious what others have had for experience. I never had this before.

I've never had this, but I just wanted to say I'm so sorry you are in so much pain! I'm sending hugs and hoping you feel better soon. Stupid AF, stupid cyst! Wishing you luck with your new cycle! Let's get those BFPs and healthy July babies!

I don't have any experience with ruptured cysts, but I'm sorry you went through so much pain. In the past I have had u/s on CD 1 or 2 to check for cysts before starting a medicated cycle, but have never had any. I hope once AF is gone you can look forward to a new TTC cycle and catching that eggie. Good Luck :)

I did have a cyst rupture. Its horrendous pain! I didnt know until after the fact though because I was in 8th grade and that wasn't even something they thought it could be given how young I was so they did test after test thinking it was appendix or other things. I ended up going into emergency surgery to figure out why the pain was so bad when all the other tests they did came back negative. I ended up having 2 cysts and one had ruptured and the other didn't which explained why the pain continued on. Hope you feel better!

Yes, I have had 2 trips to the ER for what they assume to be ruptured cycts. In both cases, I was monitored for appendicitis and kept a full day. I had a fever and puked and hurt like, well, a lot. The pain is sudden onset and increases for a few hours. By the time I can't stand and can't stop puking, I go to the ER. After a 3 hour wait (or more) it has subsided. I have had u/s and CT w/ contrast, neither showed a cyst.

My OBs have said a ruptured cyst should show fulid on the u/s, and not cause a fever, and that ER docs tend to use it as a scapegoat for when they know it isn't appendicitis. So, if it happens again, be sure to follow up with your ob/gyn.

My mom and sister have both dealt with it. They are so used to it that they both just pop a couple tylenol and take a nap. I have no personal experience even thou I have had cysts on my ovaries. I've been lucky enough to not have one rupture.
