Penicillin and Birth Control

Hello folks,

I am on birth control pills and took penicillin during this cycle. I haven't been able to find great sources regarding how much penicillin decreases the effectiveness of birth control. Does anyone know of someone who got pregnant this way?

I remember every time I was on an antibiotic my doctor would tell me to use an additional form of birth control; that it could interfere with the pill I was taking at the time.

I would ask my doctor to be sure.

Antibotics reduce the effectiveness of birth control. Most of the time the pharmacist puts a sticker on the bottle of medicine to remind you.
