I have had two miscarriages one in April which we got very excited about and told everyone as soon as we found out only to have to turn around 2 days later and give the bad news of a miscarriage and now the second miscarriage has been confirmed after 3 weeks of praying for a different outcome and waiting. I have not even reached 4 weeks with either and both were below 30 HCG!! I dont know what the cause is and my doctor said I have to have had 3 miscarriages before she will refer me any where. I was so devastated with the first one that the second one didnt hit me too hard I am at a point now where I am so angry with all my friends that are getting pregnant without even trying and then I see 18 year old kid friends of my step sister having babies while they are in high school and it kills me I find myself getting angry and jealous :( Does anyone have any tips or advice they can shoot my way as how to help my third try be successful or input on why this may be happening to me? This is killing me I dont know what I would do if I cant have a baby its all I have ever wanted and I felt like I was being so responsible for not having a baby at a young age but now I just dont know anymore!!!

P.s. I have found out that low progesterone levels run in my family but my doctor says i have to be at 1500 HCG before I can receive the shot or for them to look into it.

I've also had 2 miscarriages this year - one at 8 wks and the next one at only 5 wks. My doctor won't start testing until I've had a third one too, which really stinks.

I know how you feel about getting angry, I've definitely been there. Low progesterone definitely is of concern - I'm surprised with your family history they don't test it (I've never heard of the 1500 level thing before). I would try going to a different doctor and getting a second opinion. Have you started taking prenatal vitamins? I've heard taking them before you conceive can help. I've also heard baby aspirin can help, but you might need to talk to your doctor before starting that.

I hope that you find some answers and you get a BFP soon!

I am sorry for your losess, and that you have to be here.

If I were you I would get a second opinion. Are/were you seeing your family dr. or an OB or RE? Also are you in the US or Canada, or out of country?

I believe the progesterone issue is not true. With my last pg (before my ob even had beta results) he put me on prometrium ( a synthetic progesterone) and low dose aspirin as a precaution. He had not yet begun any testing on me and wanted to make sure all bases were covered.

I also know many women who have low progesterone that was discovered after a m/c during a regular cycle and are on progesterone supplements from 3dpo til a - test (af) or maintained after a +/

I think you are your best advocate here. I would push for at least some testing, or demand a referral/second opinion if your dr is not willing.

Wow... that is rediculous if you ask me, to have to go through 3 miscarriage before they look into it??? I would be livid if my doctor told me that!! I had a missed miscarriage at 19 weeks with my first pregnancy and he sent me to see a genetic counselor as soon as I could be seen! Turns out I did have a genetic disorder, but all I have to do is take extra folic acid and my next pregnancy should be successful. So, definiately go get a second opinion. I don't know why in the world a doctor would want to subject a women to more miscarriages instead of trying to find the cause!! I barely made it through the one miscarriage I had without going into a deep depression!!

I also know exactly how you feel. I, too, felt so responsible for not getting pregnant at a young age while trying to finish school like so many others. I was so mad at life... the unfairness of it all. My fiance's sister and sister-in-law are both pregnant now, and it makes me wonder what I did to deserve such a devestating blow to my life. It makes me wonder why other women are able to have babies with no problems (no problems getting pregnant, and no miscarriages for them)... I've always wanted to be a mother, always!!!! But, the way I look at it now: we will be the ones who won't take our pregnancies or babies for granted like some women do!! I know of two women who have at least 4 children, and they do not have custody of one of them! It makes me so mad!!

Just keep your head up. It will happen for us :) just go out there and talk to someone who will actually help you and not tell you that you have to lose another baby to get help!!
