Anyone around?
I spend time here reading the birth story sticky for encouragement for my upcoming birth. I am also a member of the March DDC and Many other DDC's for the past 10 years. This will be our first Natural birth as I have been induce (3 out of 4) and had an Epidural with all. I have hired a doula to come with me to the hospital. I am looking forward to a natural birth and being in control of my body. I am tired of not being able to feel my belly and move my legs.

Anyone else here?

I wish you great luck. I joke I have had every kind of vaginal birth that is possible. I have been induced 4 times.
My first was a totaly natural vaginal birth. No meds,iv's, and i was quiet til time it came to push.

My second I was induced to failure to progress. I tried an IV meds (stadol) and it only worked for 30 minutes. After that it stopped and just made me feel weird.

My 3rd I was induced due to HELLP syndrome. He was a pain med free birth and was not only sunnyside up...but he came out with his hand next to his head. I sadly needed forceps and a vaccum because of this.

My 4th I was induced again. I got a epi block when I was 8cm because I was tense so much I stopped dialating. She was born a few minutes later.

My 5th I was induced yet again. We found out when i was 6 cm that the baby had become breech. They did a version on him 3 times before he turned. I got a epi not long after because I was in so much pain. The epi ended up working to well and I could not walk for 5 hours afterwards. It also made my BP drop so low I almost passed out.

I will never get a epi again and i pray never get induced again.lol.

I hope you get a perfect labor and all on your own this time.

Mumeva- My births have been very different from each other. My last was also sunnyside and had tilted her head. I didn't think I was ever going to be able to push her out. My OB said that if I was a first time mom I would have ended up w a c-section.

I can't imagine breech and turning the baby while being dialated to 6. That is crazy.

I think I could have done it med free the first time around but all my labor classes were cancled due to weather and I was told the nurse would tell me everything I needed. Ha, it was the anestiologist that told me I was in dtransition and would be pushing soon when he came in to put in my epidural after over 18 hrs in labor.

My #3 was quite a story too. They were inducing me due to cord blood problems and timing it for my DH flight to come in from active duty manuvers. I had the best OB ever for that one.

The book "Birthing from Within" was a fantastic read. I was induced, no epi with my first and a completely natural birth with my second. The book is not only awesome for women choosing natural births, but any kind of birth. Check it out!!

Hello, I check in here occasionally :) I labored naturally after being induced with my 3rd but ended up having a csection. With my fourth baby I had a water birth at home at 42 wks 2 days, it was also a VBA2C. I read a lot of natural birth stories and read Ina May's guide to childbirth. Those things really helped me feel prepared. Taking it one contraction at a time and not looking at the clock were the best pieces advice I received. Good luck, I'm sure you will do great!

5 days overdue. Still waiting. I have been given a Thursday dead line before I am induced.
I really thought yesterday would have been the day. I had been having mild contractions that were getting closer together all thru the day. I went mall walking (weather is to nasty outside walk) and DH did acupressure several times a day. I was very tired and went to bed early and woke up at 11:30 with closer more intense contractions. My DH had been called into work so I wanted to make sure they were the real thing before I called him home. So I watched them for an hour and couldn't decide. So I went back to sleep and figured if I couldn't sleep or they woke me up again I would have him come home. Needless to say I slept the rest of the night without anymore contractions.

Sounds like your little one is getting ready. Lots of good thoughts. :)
