I came across this article because I wanted to know why my RE wanted me to limit my exercise during IVF. The "Washington weather" has taken its toll on my waistline (uuugggghhhh) so I've been working out more the past two weeks and decided I'd better look at whether I was helping or hindering my fertility. I know a higher BMI hurts fertility, but I read more than one article like the following. I def wanted you girls to know, too! I was surprised at how little exercise they recommend; and no sweating?!? sheesh.... guess I'll be content being fat & happy for now. as long as its followed by a BFP!!!

Thanks so much for sharing. I couldn't open the link but I just wanted to comment on your doctor's recommendation. I got the same advice not to 'overexert' myself during the IVF and during the 2ww. The extra heat intense cardio provides may disrupt the process. But exercise before is really really important. I'm a few pounds overweight and notice how much better my cycles are now that I'm making time to exercise regularly.

Do whatever makes you feel good and listen to your body. You are so lucky it's so dang hot in DC that's the best weather for losing weight - eating cucumbers & watermelons and swimming to stay cool. It's cold and damp here - mash potato weather LoL.

Wow, really? No sweating? Geez I'd fail every day. I sweat no matter what. Whether or not I'm exercising, I have sweat pouring down. But even with natural ways to conceive my OB advised me to limit exercise and not to over-do it. The article was very interesting. Thank you for sharing it :)

ohhhh no, not Washington DC, washington state! it has been exactly like you describe, cold, damp, cloudy, yucky... I've spent 6 months on my lazy butt. only recently has the sun come out and I hear it only lasts for 6 weeks, great! :-/

Oh then we're in the same boat!
I left the house wearing a scarf and toting an umbrella.
So I'll admit I'm eating more chocolate than I should and wishing for real summer weather ;)

Careful what you wish for ladies! I'm in coastal North Carolina... It is1,000 degrees with 99 perfect humidity... Gross!!! And the mosquitos and the cockroaches... Yuck! But the beach its lovely so I try not to complain too much.

PS Europe is my favorite place in the world (cannot wait to go back and see more off out!) and Washington state is on my must visit asap list!

Whoa! Ok I read the article and now I'm freaking out. I went running every day during the 2ww that came up BFP in December. I'm not doing that again.
But what I've also learned in the meantime is that Fertility yoga (also called Yin yoga) is awesome. I did it 3x a week in June on an introduction offer and it's just so relaxing! I'm going to keep going 1x a week or just do poses at home.
I also go to the gym but now when I get on the elliptical trainer I'm going to se it on "fat burn" which puts a target heart rate of 110 on the screen.
Thanks again for sharing!!
