Anyone do them? I've started doing a pilates video I found on netflix(score! lol). My physical therapist says they will help as it will strengthen my core. She also said I could ride my bike again and that it won't injure me worse even if it's uncomfortable to do. So today I did a 10.5 mile ride in about 51 mins and then did 25 mins of pilates. Today was my second day of pilates and wow I'm feeling muscles I did not know I had LOL. My sciatica is flaring up a bit from all the activity but it's just going to hurt for now until I get things firmed up. Wish me luck!

Just got done with a 14.4 mile ride and I feel great! I felt a little stiff/sore and awkward at first but then I fell back into my old rhythm. I'm slower than I was before my time off(this was my 2nd ride since my injury) but I think I bounce back as I keep getting out there. Now I'm off to do some pilates!

You are doing great! I can't wait to get back in the game. We've had an issue come up with the baby so I had to have a CVS done (kind of like an amnio) so now I've been told to take it easy this week. Next week we will be at the beach so I am hoping to at least get some walking in. Then the following week maybe I can do some light workouts.

I hope everything is okay with the baby, I'm sure that is stressful. Hopefully the results will be good and you can enjoy your trip to the beach :)

Thanks! We got the prelim results back today and the baby's chromosomes all look normal!!! This is fantastic news. There's a less serious issue that should hopefully resolve by 20 weeks.

We also found out we are having a GIRL!!!

Jen, good to hear everything looks good with your little GIRL! Amazing. Congrats.

Selena, Pilates is an excellent workout. Core strengthening is always great for any reason, even though it does hurt, take time, and often overlooked. I used to do the classes, but haven't in a long time. I love feeling the ab pain...and I bet I would feel it b/c it's been so long since I've done those exercises. Glad you're back on your bike again. I'm sure you missed it. Take care of yourself and I hope you feel back to your old self soon.

I've have 1 more month of this work from home stuff before my deadline. I hope I can get it all done so I can start to post more and and get more active again.

@Selena
I've been doing Pilates for 3.5 years and I'm addicted. It's never boring because there are literally hundreds of variations of exercises for your whole body to increase strength, balance and flexibility. And the best part is a super flat tummy! My advice is to find a studio near you with professional instructors and invest in a couple of private lessons to get the basics down - correct position and breathing is very important in order to move safely and not get injured. I also do my own exercises at home on my yoga mat or using a stability ball. Once you learn the moves you can do Pilates anywhere. I'm looking forward to continue doing pregnancy Pilates once I get my BFP ;)
