I'm really freaking out right now. I woke up at 3 am only to find my newborn laying beside me, and my boob was half way out. But I was laying on my back . The problem is I have no recollection of this happening I'm pretty sure I was asleep when I grabbed my newborn out of his chair. I don't even remember him crying or anything. I have this lamb vibrating chair on our bed in between my husband and I. That's where our baby sleeps. I was doing the co-sleeping and laying On my side to feed, but then I quit cause I didn't ever feel vary safe. Now when I feed him, I make sure I'm sitting up with the boppy pillow, then when he is done I put him in this chair on our bed. It's a nice system as long as I don't sleep walk and grab him out! Ugh I just want to cry right now I'm so upset. What do you do if u subcontiously don't know your grabbing your baby. Anyone have a similar expierence? Do you think putting him in a Bassenette will help?

By the time I had my 3rd baby I just embraced co sleeping. Everyone sleeps better and you can rest and sleep feed your baby. I just made sure to arrange everything to make it safe. For example we put our box spring/mattress directly on the floor and scooted it up to a wall. Then the baby slept between me and the wall. That way he was safe as there was no gaps for him to fall into and no one could roll over on him. I could also keep blankets away from him that way.

aw hunny. been there. and i felt the same way! i had to make a membership just to be able to reply to let you know you are not alone!! i breast fed my son for the first 9 months, and had to stop when it caused bleeding during my current pregnancy. anyway, when he was about 3 weeks old, i was super sleep deprived, like all new moms, and i use to take him into the other room to nurse, as to not wake up my husband who had to work early. i woke up, in that room, sitting in the chair i nurse in, with my breast out, milk EVERYWHERE, and no baby in site. my heart sank. i had no idea how i got there, or what happened to the baby. i was frantic and began searching everywhere. at this point, he was sleeping in his crib, and sure enough, thats where he was. apparently, i slept walked into the other room. shortly after this, i started co sleeping, and it actually helped. def scary though. i co slept only for a few months. i plan to co sleep in the beggining with this pregnancy as well, and then transition to bassinette, then crib. whatever you end up doing, just dont be too hard on yourself. yes, it is def dangerous to be that tired, so make sure you are taking any offered help to catch some naps, or ask for help if no one offers. your doing the best you can, and thats all we can do. get some rest when you can, and know, we have all been there!!
