I wasn't breastfeeding anymore, but I started giving juice/water mixture when she started eating solids. I quit giving her juice because all of her cups were leaking and leaving sticky spots on the floor. She never cared that she wasn't getting juice so I always just give her water now (she's almost 1 year). Your baby probably won't require much water since you are breastfeeding, but you could introduce it at 2 oz. at a time. If you're worried about your tap water being safe, you can buy a gallon of nursery water.

Breastfed babies should not have water. The only babies who need water are formila babies because it contains a ton of salt in formula!

As Dori mentioned, no water is needed. BM has plenty of water.
