I'm a 32 y/o, trying to conceive, I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2010, I was in denial that I had PCOS b/c I showed no symptoms but I was almost 200lbs and I'm only 5'3. I was put on metformin and lost about 20, now I'm down to about 165 (lost 10lbs on my own this year with exercising). I am very irregular, without the help of provera, I would never be able to get my period on my own.

I am really frusterated and I feel so lost with everything.

Last year I was put on clomid for 6 months but failed throughout b/c of my hectic schedule, working, taking 3 classes, and trying to get the hubby to bd with me was hectic too. So finally in April of this year, I gave up, I just focused on losing weight the right way, hitting the gym, being active, and eating healthier.

Right now, I'm taking two classes, no longer working (thank goodness, b/c my job was so stressful!).

I really hate to ask and feel embarrassed to ask for help but I feel as though I'm so new to everything and I need my hand held through this process. God has blessed me with a wonderful friend who went through this that was there at the ease of the text but, I must learn this on my own, I know she's a busy mom too! And she's been a true blessing! She reached out to me and helped me so much!

Well, I was given provera to start a period a few weeks ago, had my period on Nov 2, and took clomid days 5-10, and I took an OPK on the 12th and I saw a smiley face! I was excited...so we started bd the 13th and 15th... and I'm planning on it tomm and Monday but, my chart says otherwise. I'm just really confused... I need babyhelp 101 majorly!

A few other notes:
I have gotten an HSG done twice, first time she couldn't tell, second time, she said my ovaries were wonderful.
Many ultra sounds and found nothing!
Husband did sperm analysis, everything came back fine.

Questions:
What to expect next? Since the smily face, 11/12, my temps were: 96.56, 97.1, 96.7, 96.5... these temps were not taken at the same time b/c I pee a lot, so as soon as I have the urge to pee I take my temp so the times are different but, usually between 6a.m.-8.m.
My temp has been going up and down, and I got sick this week and went to the doc, and my temp went up from 97.1 in the a.m. to 98.2, is this a sign?
Should I keep bd? Did I miss the fertile time?
Symptoms: breast tenderness? Is this a good sign?

Thanks in advance, and I'm sorry if I sound silly in not knowing these things, just a lot of things on my mind... I appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

If your temps stay up for the next 3 days FF may give you ch's on cd13. It is also possible that you have not O'd yet. I would keep bding at least every other day until you do get ch's. You should also try to temp at the same time before getting up. Even if you set an alarm for 4am, temp then go back to sleep. It will make your chart a lot easier to interperet.

I am sorry for the PCOS diagnosis. I think you are doing the right thing by focusing on your health and losing weight. I have heard that weight loss and a healthy low glycemic diet can help with it.

As far as the clomid....are you under the care of a gp, and ob or an RE? The reason I ask is that I have heard that you can only do six cycles of clomid in your lifetime. Then you usually switch to Femara, or on to Trigger shots and TI, or IUI. If you are not seeing an RE it might be worth looking in to it.

Breast tenderness on its own is not really a symptom. Unfortunately a lot of pg symptoms are because of the progesterone after you O. A lot of us around here call them not-a-symptoms so as not to get our hopes to far up. I have noticed my last two cycles as well that my bb's are tender from after o until af.

Good luck and if you have any other questions ask away, that is what we are here for!

Thank you for responding! My original OB told me to see a fertility specialist but new OB said it was okay for us to do this for 3 months then we'll see a specialist. I am going to see her Wednesday, I will see if I can do the fermage? Sorry if I'm slow with the abbreviations... I'll have to look up the abbreviations.

I appreciate your support, I feel so lost, stressed!

God bless!

I have generally the same problem.

My suggestion to you is on your first cycle of charting your BBT DO NOT INTERPRET IT until the cycle is over. Your chart looks like a few of my past charts and I promise if you just record your temp and force yourself to not look at the chart for at least the first cycle you'll be better off.

They wont diagnose me with PCOS but I'm pretty confident that's what I have. I'm 22 years old 5' 3 and 167lbs now in 2008 I was 115. Yikes! Luckily since the weight came on so quickly it hasn't settled in and I have a great opportunity to loose it all quickly as well.

To me it doesn't look like you're about to ovulate instead it looks like you're going to "gear up" to ovulate and you may not successfully release an egg. Based on your pattern being similar to mine in the past.

Good luck.

You should have O'd on CD 12, with the temp dip. CD 13 is way too high to peg that. If you didn't O, I would keep checking with OPK's until its --. Also, I would try and not take your temp until the same time, even if you get up alot. At least the time will be consistant. Hope you get your BFP soon.

First agree with pp, in order for your temps to help you + make sense you really need to temp at the same time every day regardless of his much you get up.

Woohoo on the opk :)!! I would suggest BD before the pos opk. You want sperms up and waiting for the egg and if you dont BD until you get a :) its a little late in the game as the follicle has already started the ovulation process. BD every 2-3 days starting after AF ends so there is a constant supply of spermies ready & waiting.

Congrats on the weight loss!! You have come a lng ways. I hope you keep up the good work and it helps you on conceive .

Thanks for the support! I am so glad and thankful for the responses!

So...I did the OPK again today and another smiley face? Any thoughts?

Sometimes your body gears up to O, but then it doesn't actually O. That may be why you got another smiley... hopefully this one is the real deal and you O in the next 12-48 hours. If you have been BDing every other day and you O in the next coupld of days, you have a pretty good chance of catching that eggie. Remember, it can take about 6 months to get PG, so don't stress if it doesn't happen this month. You are on the right track after taking a break to get healthy. I agree it is so important to temp at the same time each day. If your chart doesn't "look" like you O'ed this month, it might be because of the temping. Since you've had some confusing things (two smiley faces), I would keep BDing every other day for most if not all of the cycle. This will give you the best chance possible for the next couple of months while you figure out exactly when you are O'ing. Don't be embarassed to ask for help! We are very glad you are here, and there are lots of ladies on here with lots of experience trying. We're a great support system for each other. I hope you have a short and sweet stay on this board and can "graduate" to a DDC soon :)

I'm still new to this but have been stalking the boards for a few months now, I'm 36 . My story sounds so much like yours, very busy work scheudle, trying to match up with my husbands schedule. Things have calmed down. I have a calender with my OPK and AF days and BD days, i put down my symptoms so that I can go back and look for signs or patterns. From what I have read, and have gone through, I know that i need to relax, take care of myself so I can have a healthy baby and just enjoy..Everything happens for a reason and when it is the right time it will happen. Kinda sucks hearing it, I know I am, but I do believe it. Praying for you and your BFP keep in touch!

So...update, according to my chart, I thought I ovulated... but, I did my progesterone test and my level was at 1.4. So next round I'm going to start days 3-7, chart better and at the same time, and see where I go from there. I know earlier this year, my level was up at an 18 but we didn't BD.
