I haven't been on babyzone in FOREVER! But, I am back and will likely be needing your help/support. I am still nursing my 18 month old and I just got a BFP! We weren't planning on TTC'ing until June/July, but were not doing a great job of preventing and I ovulated a week early, so tada, I am pregnant. It is very early still, and praying for a sticky baby (history of m/c).
Anyways I got pregnant around the 16/17 month mark with my last one and my milk dried up around 10-12 weeks. My then 19/20 month old would hit me/smack me/my breast because there was no milk. That combined with the stress of my husband moving while I stayed home to sell our house, extremely low progesterone that yielded me on bi weekly serum shots that made me EXTREMELY ill and chronic bronchitis that I had from about the 10 week mark until after my baby was born...yeah, I just couldn't hold out and nurse him any longer. Finally I got tired of feeling ill and dry nursing when my son was about 20 months old. I had so wanted to make it to 2 years! I made it to 22/23 months with my daughter. And I really wanted to make it to 2 years with this little guy. I feel like I am robbing him! I can't say I necessarily want to tandem nurse (nothing against it but I know how hard it can be to manage my house with only one child demanding the boob!), but I do want to make it to 2 years. Braxton is super attached to the breast still. But, I am not sure what to do if my milk dries up again? I cannot do the dry nursing/hitting thing again. Hoping it isn't an issue.
Anyways, just stopping in to say hi and I hope I don't have problems, but if I do I know you ladies will be there to support me!

Maybe things will be easier this time Kristen. Gideon was very attached to nursing when I got pregnant with Silas but it did not bother him that my milk dried up. He would still nurse and it was only really uncomfortable until my colostrum came in. By the time Silas was born he was mostly just nursing at bed time and maybe one other time in the day. He did not nurse the first couple of days after Silas was born and then nursed a bit more once my milk came in for a few weeks. Then he went back to his once before bedtime routine. So it was not bad at all. Good luck, I hope everything goes smoothly!
