I don't want to bring up anything painful for anyone, so please don't respond if you don't want to.
I found out yesterday (after seeing a hb 2 wks ago) that baby quit growing 5 days ago and had no hb :( This is my 8th mc, but I have 2 beautiful children. The baby was measuring 8 weeks. The dr gave me the choice to mc on my own, have a D&C, or take the pill to mc. If you could share your experiences with any of the above I would appreciate it.
I have to have a surgery to remove a fibroid I have (could have caused the mc) and they can't do it at the same time as a D&C. I've had one D&C already and am afraid of scar tissue if I have 2 D&C's and a surgery to remove the fibroid. But I like how quickly the D&C makes everything over. I'm afraid of passing an 8 wk fetus on my own with 2 kids at home, but like the idea of no scar tissue risks for future pregnancies. TIA!

Well the Choice is really up to you I had a D and C done on November the 6th my baby stopped growing at 7 weeks and I too has seen the babys heartbeat only a few days before! It has been one of the hardest things to go through but a D and C gave me some sense of closer i started mc on my own and it was just to much to handle all the blood and clots so I chose to have a D and C it was done and over with that day! Grant you I still cry daily but it was easier that way for me! And the good thing about the D n C was that 29 days later which was yesterday I got af and we are trying again what ever you chose good luck to you and I cant say im sorry enough for your loss it is a very hard thing to go through!

It s a really hard choice. All my loses I m/c on my own. It felt better to me to do it at home on my own. It was hard. But a d&c was to scary to be. I was never offered the pill so no experience with it. I wish you good luck and we are here for you.

So sorry to hear this. I had a D & C with my first m/c. I feel it did help give me some closure. With my second m/c, I m/c'ed naturally, so I didn't need any meds. I know I'm not much help, but just sharing my experiences.

I'm in the middle of this. I began to m/c on my own on Friday night and the m/c was confirmed at the er yesterday. I have passed some tissue already and they gave me the med to help me continue. If it is not all gone by tomorrow when I have an u/s, I will have a d&c.

So far, the med has not affected me much, but I am taking vicodin for the pain, which feels like bad menstrual cramps.

Hugs :(

I have used the medication and it really isn't that bad and it allows you to stay home and deal with your issues privately. They will give you pain medication to deal with the cramps too.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is really how you feel about your body. I went through this Oct1st and I did it on my own. It was really hard and I am not sure I would go that route again but that is just me, I am not sure. The only thing I can tell you is that God will heal your heart and whatever else. If it is in His will he always gives us the deepest desires of our hearts, it just isn't always when and how we ask for them. Praying for peace and guidance.

I have had both , not the pill though. I preferred the D&C as it was over within a day. My first MC I was at 9 weeks and waiting naturally was terrible, I was still working - outdoors, and then I ended up going to the ER as I was just not coping with loosing so much blood. They ended up helping me finish as the matter was stuck. The 2nd time I was at 15 weeks and this time an office job, I had to wait and still work a week or so before the D&C was scheduled, that was so hard then 2 days to recover. The 3rd I just found out I was pregnant at like 7 weeks then was a heavy period afterward. Do what works best for you and your situation. Good luck with everything

I'm so sorry for your loss.
I have had 3 d&cs. There is no recovery time and it is fairly quick. You can get by with just taking ibuprofen after. I always opted for them because number one, I don't want to be in physical pain AND emotional pain, and number two, I wanted to get it over with so my body could heal and I could start TTCing.

I am sorry for your loss. I just started to miscarry my baby Thursday. I went in complaining of cramping and they couldn't find the heartbeat. Since I had started a natural miscarriage they advised me to continue letting my body do what it was doing. It's awful. If I don't pass all the tissue I will have to have a D & C. I go back in 2 wks for a follow up.
