Ok, so I'm looking for supplements or dietary changes that could improve our chances. I will say that I do not see myself going gluten free or dairy free, but if reducing either of those things would be helpful I'm willing to try.

I think I have a short Luteal phase, maybe 10-11 days, so not extremely short, but it could use some help!

And, for any of you dealing with a partner with spermie issues, what has been suggested for them? I don't know that DH has any issues, but we aren't going to have him tested, so anything to help would be appreciated.

I am not an expert but I do know some things. Here is what I know.

Sperm have to be inside BEFORE you ovulate. It takes sperm seconds to enter the tubes, but 8-10 hours to change and be ready to fertilize.
If your hubby wears tighty whities, he should change to boxers. Avoid laptop's on the lap, and hot tubs. He should also start taking a multi vitamin,

As far as vitamins. Prenatals are very important. Vitamin B6 will help lengthen your LP. AS well as making sure you have folic acid.

Here is what I take: Prenatal Vitamin, Vit B6, Vit E, Vit D3 (I live in the North East, need more sun), Co Q 10 (this will help your eggs' biological clock turn back) I also take Cod Liver oil- it is THE BEST vitamin out there and contains the highest levels of DHA, EPA. Taste horrible, BUT if you take a sip of soda after you will be golden.

PS I am also adding progesterone after I O. Maybe on 2DPO, until 15 DPO. I think this will help to lengthen my LP. BUT when you become pregnant IF you choose to use this, make sure you do not stop taking it, until you ask your DR.

I hope this helps. GL

What Dori said :)

Plus I take royal jelly for egg quality support.
Wheat grass helps with blood circulation, improves fertility. I eat energy bars with wheat grass in them, but you can also buy a 'greens' powder and make smoothies, or just go to a juice bar and take a shot of wheat grass.

Another thing, some don't realize: Seems obvious, but don't smoke, and if your husband smokes, it kills the sperm and the ones that survive, do have a hard time swimming- they tend to swim sideways.

Def take your prenatals!! Rainbow light has a good one. Check out red raspberry leaf, royal jelly and Maca root. Also, I would highly recommend acupuncture. My acu gave me herbs that are helping my cycle + LP tremendously!

Here is a link to the fertility shake I drink every day. It has a lot of the same things Dori & Sylvia mentioned

P.s. encourage DH to get tested.... its quick & easy and may give you a ton of answers!

The ladies have given you somegreat info already! Are you temping and using OPKs to pinpoint O date? This can be a big help because so many woment hink they are ovulating on o around day 14, but some women (like me) don't ovulate until day 17 or 18 or sometimes even later.

As for DH's swimmers, this is the big issue we are trying to overcome. The most important things he can do to help boost his numbers and sperm health are:
-multivitamin with zinc, vitamins b12, c, d, e, and amino acids
-loose fitting undies instead of tighty-whities
-no laptops on the lap and no hot tubs or hot baths
-eliminate strenuous bike workouts (no cycling 20+ miles or mountain biking for hours)
-eat walnuts
-lots of fruit and veggies and protein
-drop the extra lbs if very overweight
-no smoking, limit drinking, and no illicit drugs
The big thing to remember is: if your DH has a lower count, these changes will take 3 months to take effect, so try to give yourselves a three month fresh start window without all the stress of TTC. Maybe these changes will help you get your BFP in 3-6 months... OR even better, hopefully you get a beautiful surprise BFP in the next few weeks!! Good luck catching that eggie :)

I hopethis helps and you get your
