So I have my baby shower coming up on1/17 and I am a total sucker for cheesy games, but I have talked to a few ladies that groan and say that is so lame! Anyways, i still want to have a few games at the shower. Anyone have suggestions for "good" ones that are easy and entertaining??

there are 2 that I really like. one is like Scategories. Get the baby's name and think of words that associate with pregnancy, labor and delivery but they have to be with the letters of the baby's name. for example with my last daughter we did this and her name was Mackenzie and we so for M you can put Monitor, Mother than go to the next letters.

Another game is get a basket of candies that can be associated with pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum for example Milk Duds for non lactating breasts, Mr Goodbar for Anesthesiologist, and so on you may need too look up the different candies but I think it's a fun game.

I am the total opposite! I am not a fan of most games! Ha! I told my sister she can do what she wants as long as there aren't any games that bring attention to how clueless I am "let's ask the new mom what all of these crazy tools are for and make her feel stupid and unprepared" type games! I feel unprepared enough on my own thank you ;)

One we did a friends shower was they played a CD of like top 40 songs as lullabies (I think Baby Rock is one of the CDs) and we had to name the song. That was fun.

I've also seen people decorate a onsie for the new baby- like an art table with plain onsies and all the supplies and people got to be creative and have fun with it and Mom got a bunch of really special, custom onsies. Or wooden letters to go on the nursery wall- I've seen those decorated at a shower too.

I'll see my sister tomorrow and since she is planning mode (my shower is 1-12!) I will see what else she has come across! :)

I am a big one for the games! I actually am always asked to help with showers and be in charge of the games. I just love them!!

1.) The diaper raffle is great! Have all the guests bring a pack of diapers and then they can enter to win a raffle prize. We always let them buy extra tickets for $1 too. The prize can be a gift card for a resturant or whatever you want. This is a great way to stock up on diapers! I was using the diapers from my shower for months.

2.) Present BINGO: Get blank BINGO cards (you can print them off the internet) and have the guests fill in the spaces with items they think you will get as presents. Then as you open them they cross them out to win. I usually keep it going till all presents are open but you can limit the amount of winners too.

3.) The string or ribbon cut (not sure the actual name). People cut a piece of ribbon or string to the length they think will fit around your belly. The closest one wins. Not every mom likes doing this so I have only seen it done once.

4.) The baby food smelling contest: You take the labels off jars of baby food and number them. Then the guests pass them around and smell them and try to guess what kind it is. The guest(s) with the most right answers wins.

These are just a few. If you want more I will be happy to give you more suggestions :-)

one that we did at my friends place was we went to the craft store and got these tiny little plastic babies, then we froze them in ice cubes. When each guest arrived we gave them a ice cube baby in water (we varied the water temps & amounts) and made the guest guess when their baby would be born (completely free of ice).

Guests were allowed to move the cups, hold the cups to warm them up they just weren't allowed to add or dump out the water.

We used a black permanent marker to note the time they guessed and a red marker for the time baby arrived. The closest guess won.

The best part about the game was it was on going for most of the shower and people would randomly be like "My baby was born!" or " why won't my baby just come already!"
