Came up with an idea to occupy my mind these past few days... I'm recovering from pneumonia. As a working mom of 4, I find it very hard to sit still and take it easy, so had to think of something that calms & relaxes me - of course, names!

My challenge to myself: think of a name I like that nobody would have on their current list. A name most would find unappealing, out of style or just unheard of for a baby of today. Attempt to "refresh" it by working it into a good combo. The goal: work it into something I would actually consider using. I got so carried away, I actually made it to a 3 MIDDLE NAME combo, lol. I really like it!

My choice: Yvonne
1 mn: Yvonne Scarlett
2 mn: Yvonne Elizabeth Scarlett
3 mn: Yvonne Elizabeth Scarlett Hadleigh

WDYT? Care to try for yourself with something random & unpopular?

Aw, I love Yvonne (but it's too rhymey with DDs name). It totally fits your "not current/most wouldn't like/agree" category IMO..... hummm so mine...

name: Judith
With mn: Judith Tessa
with 2 mns: Judith Tessa Maisie

I love the name Yvonne. I like Yvette too, but Yvonne is so much better IMO. I like this game. :) Here's my choice (I only know one person that might like it :P)

Name: Gertrude ♥

Normally my Gertrude combo is Abigail Gertrude, but I'll try coming up with a combo with it as the first name.

With mn: Gertrude Amelia
With 2 mns: Gertrude Amelia Grace (Eww...hang on. I don't like the initials being "GAG" :P Lemme think of a new one.) Gertrude Amelia Linnae (lih-nay)

3 mns would be too much for a name like Gertrude. :/

Because its on my mind from the other thread, and because it fits in the unappealing category (IMO, and the board in general), I choose Nevaeh.

Nevaeh Lenore
Nevaeh Day Estelle
Nevaeh Elinor Day

*** I love Day as a mn, must make note to work it into more combos!

Maria, I hope you will get well soon, I don't like being sick either.

I'm going to go with Kaydian, it is a name I find unappealing, and somewhat dated.

1 mn: Kaydian Janelle
2 mns: Kaydian Janelle Alexis
3 mns: Kaydia Janelle Alexis Mia

I'm going to use the name of a little girl in my class...Brekiah (Brih-kye-uh). It is so NOT my style (and I doubt its really anyone else's...) but I find that I actually kind of like saying it, lol.

1. Brekiah Noelle
2. Brekiah Evelyn
3. Brekiah Jane Elise

Ehh.... I tried to tone it down and soften it a little, but I still don't really like any of those.

I sooo loved reading the responses! It was nice to see I'm not the only one who has love for Yvonne. yay! :)

@ Ariel - you made me lol with the GAG initials!!!

@ Geri - I also think Day makes for a cool mn. I went to school with a Summer Day. A little wordy for me, but it's very hippie-chic.

@ Danielle - THANK YOU! :) Kaydian is new to me - interesting... I love it with Janelle... actually I love Janelle in general, but knew a few who give the name an unsavory feel, making it unusable IRL for me.

@ Briana - Brekiah is interesting. I can also say it's not my style, but saying it out loud, you can almost feel an appeal... It's like Erika or Danika with something "extra", lol.

2 mn: Yvonne Elizabeth Scarlett -- nice combo!! The 3 middle name combos are a bit much for me, though.

Amber
Amber Helena
Amber Helena Ivy
Amber Helena Ivy Mae

Gregory
Gregory Elliot
Gregory Elliot Jude
Gregory Elliot Jude Maxwell

BTW, I do like the name Gregory. I hope someone was inspired- because I'd love to see it more often! I chose it because it's somewhat dated.

Oy vey, pneumonia! Here's hoping for a speedy recovery, Maria!

Geri, you reminded me that when I was little, I had a doll I named Kelby-Dae. (Her big sister doll was Sonya "Sunny" - talk about a mismatched sibset!) Originally I think it was Kelby-Day, but I didn't like that "Day" was a word so I changed the spelling to something, you know, more unique. :P

For funsies, I'll go with Kelby:

- Kelby Dae
- Kelby Anisa Dae
- Kelby Sanabel Anisa Dae

And for a boy... hmm, how about Edgar, I don't think that's a popular one but I have a fondness for it:

- Edgar Nathaniel
- Edgar Nathaniel Brooks
- Edgar Nathaniel Julian Brooks

Everyone is getting sick but I have to say pneumonia would be really awful. When I was sick a month ago I was so incredibly grateful when the doc said it probably was NOT pneumonia. So rest up and get better!

This is a great game. I like some of the improvements that have been made to the dusty names on your shelves.

Here are a couple of names I love but think others don't quite appreciate. Let's see if I can make them appealing.

Frank Sawyer
Frank Sawyer Morgan
Frank Sawyer Morgan Greene

Mildred Alora
Mildred Alora Temperance
Mildred Alora Temperance Lucy

Don't Frank and Mildred just sound like an old couple?

My great grandmother was Geraldine. My mother (Jeri) and I were named after her. People call me Geraldine, as a joke, because they think its such an awful name (and I admit to shouting NO!!! when people asked if it was my real name, when I was younger lol). Anyway, I appreciate it now, but maybe its not ready for a come back...?

Geraldine Sabelle
Geraldine Schuyler Sabelle
Geraldine Ivy Adelle
Geraldine Ivy Sage
Geraldine Leonora (this would be after both maternal great grandmothers!)

I hope you feel better!! This sounds like fun so I'll give it a try.

My pick is Jenny, I really think it's kinda cute but it's sorta dated and some think it's just for a nn.

Jenny Analiese

My other pick for a boy would be Patrick, I like it but it's really not used anymore.

Patrick Gage
