You have gotten great information from Karen. The only thing I wanted to add is that nursing is not always for hunger it is for comfort too. IF you are not against pacys have you tried different brands? My youngest took one in the hospital and then when we got home I stopped giving it to her hoping I could avoid the binky well after 6 days of her being attached to me non-stop I ran to Target and picked up every brand there was, finally she took the Nuk and I had a little break. It is very hard in the begining because their tummies are so small and breastmilk is very natural and digests fast so they are hungry more often than formula fed babies. But it does get better.
Growth spurts normally last a few days. The worst one for me was 3 months and that lasted a week, at least.
Hang in there momma! Plus with all the nursing it really helps your milk supply!!
