So I think weekly I'll do a post to strictly give advice for new mums and mums new to cesareans

So here's your chance to let your experiences shine!

This weeks question is...

''What should a planned (or prepared for anything!) c-section hospital bag contain?''

(These responses should reflect how long you stayed in the hospital, and what extra care measures you had to take to care for yourself after surgery. Those are two commonly asked questions about c-sections.)

The hospitals really have everything you need regarding C-Section care. I would stack up on pads and granny panties for at home and also if you can bring home a bottle of the hospital soap they use for your incision. Also, the bed pads they lay you on to put on your bed at home. Moreso for post delivery than C-section specificallty. It took several months for my incision area to feel normal, meaning not numb. If you have a shower at home, I suggest the shower heads that you can remove to make cleaning easier. Also, take the colace they give you and keep taking it until you can comfortably go to the restroom without straining. You may want to keep a pillow on your lap in case you need to laugh or cough for the first few days.

some things that i found handy when i had my c-section were :
- Big thick pads (you will bleed alot)
- trousers and pants with high/loose waist band and soft material ( your skin will be so sensitive to rough materials like sunburn)
- definetely an extra pillow for on tummy when coughing and for propping you up
- extra blanket and fuzzy socks ( i was freezing cold when i woke up after surgery)
- some kind of cough syrup for all the phlegm stuck in your throat( i couldn't breathe because of it)
- wipes, sensitive soap for down there and a hand mirror to see down there and your scar without bending.
-extra towels
- yoghurts and things to snack on, when you get hungry your tummy aches more.
- small light handbag with a long strap with just wallet,keys,mobile in. ( make someone else carry the heavy stuff because you will not be able to carry a short strapped heavy purse.
- I would also add if your having a scheduled C-section to shower and remove any hair the night before because you will not be able to touch/shave/wax that area for a long time.

Thats just what i thought was useful personally.

Great advice! Having had a c-section before, I think I pretty much relate to everyone of these points!!
