Baking Soda Douche?

So I have been contemplating trying this maybe this cycle. I am wondering if maybe I am too acidic and maybe that is why I am not getting PG. I am ovulating with Femara so that isn't my problem and my DH came back with good SA results so no problem there. I am thinking about trying it this cycle. I see people do it to conceive a boy, I don't care which gender, I just want a baby. So I thought I might try it but wanted to know what others experience is with it and what exactly do you mix? Or maybe there is a regular store bought one that I can find? I might just call my doctor and see if I can get a post coital too.

I did it a few times. it didnt help me get pg....but we have issues. I foimd the ratio online somewhere. I cant remember what it was exactly. I just found different sources and compared the ratios...the one that i found to be the most listed is the ratio i used. It cant hurt.

I say go for the post coital. Dont they test pH as part of that test?

Everything I know about douches is that they are terrible for you. I would think the same is true for a home made version. Personally, I wouldn't mess with pH unless you know it is an issue because you could introduce a whole host of other issues. Just my thoughts....

Have you read the article Lerissa posted on Sunday - Pregnant Pause in WMagazine? It mentions that PH problems can be uncovered by the post coital test. Have your doc test you and prescribe you the right formula - if you need it.

I agree with the PP's, ask your doc for the post cotal test. Personally I would not be trying to alter anything without first talking to my dr.

I have previously had issues with the pH, down there, being off. It was causing a lot of itching and unpleasantness and was bad for TTC. I found that using a little bit of Preseed every day alleviated my symptoms and I got a BFP next cycle. I felt better about the Preseed, because I have heard that douching can be pretty dangerous.

Just a thought
