Benny is going through a difficult feeding stage for me. He is almost to the point of flat out refusing baby food, but can't quite pass muster eating the same dinner with the rest of us, except on a few occasions. Even when we do eat something he can eat, he wants to feed it to himself and while I don't even mind the mess, it takes him so long that I feel like he gets tired of it before he gets enough to eat. He is 11 months old now. My only consolation is he is still getting breast milk, but even that is sometimes iffy. Sometimes he will sit and nurse well, but more frequently he will pull off after less than a minute, leaving me frustrated (boobs oww) and him still hungry or thirsty. Speaking of thirsty, should he be getting water now as well? I guess when he doesn't nurse he would need it. I gave him a sippy cup of water in the car the other day when I knew we were going to have a somewhat long drive. He ended up drinking about 1/3 of a small sippy cup, so even there is not what I would consider adequate fluid intake.
Hope someone still checks our board here!
