My mom, who I love, is very critical and just says whatever she is thinking at the moment. I don't think I could handle that if there are a) complications or b) just cause I'm in a load of pain.
Has anyone had their parents be in the delivery room with them? I'm honestly not open to this at all in my moms case, but just curious why she would be assuming she would be in the first place. Is that common?
Yes, it's common for a woman's mom to be in the delivery room with her. I don't want my mom there either. My mom makes me nervous sometimes and my husband makes me feel calm and confident, which is what I need. I would allow my mom in the delivery room if she agrees to speak only off of the "affirmation" cards I provide. And that will only happen if I have a vaginal delivery, which sadly may not happen. It would be nice to have her in the room with me when I'm recovering from the C section so I can send my husband off to watch the baby, but not during the procedure itself.
If this offends our moms they will quickly get over it when they see their grandchild, right?
