I am still nursing 17 month old and am 19 weeks pregnant. My nipples have just about given out. It hurts SOOOOOOOO much now especially at the initial latch. He's only nursing twice a day now (some times once) before nap and bedtime and doesn't stay on for long. I don't think there much milk in there at this point. So I'm dealing with the pain as I suspect he will wean soon. Any advice to get through the pain?

I'm sorry you are in pain :( My milk dried up quickly when I was pregnant and it remained painful to nurse until my colostrum came in at about 23 weeks. You could try cool or warm packs before nursing, maybe that would help. I ended up just soldiering through until it was less painful on it's own though. I hope it eases up for you soon!

My son is also 17m and I'm 12 weeks pregnant. I've started using lanolin again since my nipples are so tender I feel like crying some days. It REALLY helps with the pain. Yesterday I started trying to wean him, since my milk is all but dried up and he hasn't been sleeping very well at night. I sing the ABCs and after the song is done (once on each side) I tell him the milk is all gone for the night. He throws a tantrum for about thirty seconds and smacks my chest until he realizes I have a cup and then he's off and wanting to go play.
