So my friend comes over the other day and about an hour into our visit asks for more to drink, so she can take tyl. I ask if she's ok, has a headache? She says well I haven't been feeling so good, and then pulls out a thermometer and takes her temp! Says she had a fever yesterday, WHAT?!

why on earth would you come over to my house, with a fever? Bring you and your daughter (who I just found out right now has been fevering the past few days, and now has bright red cheeks! and a rash) to my house with my two kids!

Why on earth would someone think it's ok?
And now the next time she wants to come over, I feel like I have to screen her! Any fever, chills, coughing lately? No, ok come on over....

If it were me, I would ask her next time she wants to come over. I know it sounds mean but I rather ask than have my family get sick. Just my opinion. :)

I have friends that do that and even family that will. It's super frustrating! I now work it in the conversation on the phone before agreeing that they can visit. "How are you all doing today?" "How are the kids?" It's generalized, but a lot of the time it works. "Oh were all doing ok, maddy has the sniffles but she's ok" . It has worked for me, I had to do something, I got so tired of people coming over when they or their kids are sick. You would think it would be so simple and COMMON KNOWLEDGE, but apparently not to all!
GL to you and don't be afraid to try asking, sometimes you have to take care of you and your kiddos, even if it means being a little rude!

I totally relate! I've actually had my mother in law over just to have her lay on my couch and take ear drops for a ear infection! I'm almost terrifide to have people over, as soon as a jerm enters my house hold my husband gets it & me & my daughter pass it back and forth its the WORST! Now before I have people over I make sure I ask how everyones feeling, sometimes I feel bad for asking but then I think they don't feel bad to come over with a cold or infection!

Normaly I tell a person if we are not feeling well. But a fever that was had the day before does not bother me (as long as it is gone)nor do colds. My kids are in school so colds are common once weather gets cooler. I do not care if my friends/kids friends come over with a cold. But a fever or stomache issues I would ask them to go home right away.
