TTC Question

Hello everyone, I have a question for you ladies, DH and I have decided to start TTC our second child this month, but I still occasionally BF my 10 month old daughter. Ive tried doing some research on if this will effect my fertility or not but keep finding different answers so I'm pretty confused! I've got my periods back in July, fairly regular except last month I had more brown blood then fresh read blood, she only nurses before a nap and to go back to sleep ( about 2 - 3 times), sometimes its used just for a comfort and less for eating, you know? she's also on solids (3 meals a day) and drinks water and juice.
I'm really hoping to get pregnant in the next couple month! any advice would be greatly appreciated! has anyone got pregnant while bf-ing? will I need to wean her completely?

Everyone is different. My mil & my best friend got pg while breastfeeding, neither were trying.

I will say, make sure that you talk to your dr before really trying because I know a lot of women are told to wait a year after a c-sec before trying to get pg.

Did you have any problems conceiving your first child? I am pregnant now with my third and got pregnant while still breastfeeding #2. We conceived in the first month of trying, so it obviously didn't affect our fertility too much.

I have known a few women who have conceived while breastfeeding and some have told me that the quantity of milk they produced after they got pregnant dropped quite a bit. If your baby isn't breastfeeding too much any more though, it shouldn't be a problem.

I agree with what you said about some women conceiving while breastfeeding. It happened to a friend of mine.

About weaning her before, you really shouldn't need to. She may self wean when you do get pregnant though because the taste of the milk can change. A girl in my DDC was still bfing her 3 year old but she stopped because she said it didn't taste good.
